So Lauko goes on IR, Wallstedt called up, I wonder if it's just to work with him more or if they actually plan on getting him any games
Wonder if it's to give him an NHL check instead of an AHL check so he doesn't hate the organization for telling him to get an apartment and then sending him down almost the entire year. They need to be careful to not manage him like Columbus managed Jiricek.
Naw, they'll just stick him on the 4th line, like they do with all our young prospects.

The Wild are 5-7 against teams currently occupying a playoff spot. Their “league leading” blah blah blah is nothing more than smoke and mirrors much like every other season the last 25 years that they got off to good starts only to collapse.

This team as constructed is going nowhere. We can all point to the injury excuse but tell me what team goes through the year and into the post season without injuries?

We’ve played 38% of our games against garbage teams and that is what our record shows.

By Feb we will be back on the bubble where we belong and we will also be looking at a first round drubbing at the hands of the Stars or Jets. Yay

Well, we're definitely going to lose some games, so are you saying that it's better to lose to teams that aren't in the playoffs?

How many garbage teams are in the NHL? Where's your cutoff, the bottom 5 teams? Bottom 15?
I ask because bottom 10 is roughly 31% of the league, so 38% would be close to the expected amount. It's probably a slightly easy schedule, but not radically so.

Half the league makes the playoffs, this team cannot win a game against the top teams in our conference. We are going now where fast as constructed. The record is smoke and mirrors and we will watch it play out as hr always has.

I've said for a while now that the Wild are pretty good, but not 1st-in-the-NHL good, so you're sort of preaching to the choir a bit. That said, I find it hard to be so gloomy about a team that has been winning the games they should, and has been close to splitting the games they should split.

If you just want to temper our outlandish expectations, I'm not sure whose posts you've been reading. Most of the people around here have been fairly level headed about this version of the team.

This team has been better than I expected, but i never expected a really strong cup contender, or a lottery team. Kap and Gus are playing great, and having a very legit D when. all are healthy has helped us record wise. Rossi has been vg, though there is no doubt that his numbers are being boosted by playing with Kap.

Hartman's play has been disappointing, even though i never thought he was anything like the 30+g, 60+ pts guy he was two years ago. Besides him, Freddy and Marjo are playing at the level you expect, or better, from 2M/yr players. It's not Marjo's fault he is being stuck in the top 6.

I can see us winning a series, partially because i think the NHL is weak this year. None of the teams scare me, especially if we are healthy. We got beaten by a VGK 3-2, in a very even game....big deal. EDM beat us- finally - big deal. If we play them again with Brodin and JEE healthy I bet on us to kick their asses again.

Still, next year is when i expect the big year. Kap will still be on his old deal, cap wise, Ohgren and/or Yurov will be contributing young legs and energy, Jiricek should be able to step in if a RHD is injured. We will have cap space to sign a FA, and MAF will finally be gone.

I just look at this beams ability to compete with the Jets , Stars , Knights or Avs and we haven’t even won 1/4 of the games against them since Kap got here. It’s been abysmal and pathetic and predictable. Nothing changes.

Comparing this team to a team 3-4 years ago is kind of pathetic, especially considering that teams like CO are not what they used to be due to injury and large contracts. Why complain about a team that is killing it, relatively speaking, in the standings.

I didn't like the fiala trade either, at the time. Guess what, i was wrong. Faber by himself is already more valuable than Fiala, and Ohgren will add value in years to come.
