Hartman has mentioned he likes playing center more than wing. Neutering two lines instead of trying to spread it out to three is dumb.

If he could win a faceoff, then maybe putting him at center would be worth considering.

I don't think I wanna hear about neutering lines when I watched your idea score 0 goals against Dallas. I think I'd rather just put Rossi where he belongs and let everything else fall where it may.
And when Eriksson Ek was injured.
BTW Hartman is a new dad so he might be going through the Gus phase this year.

From the article (Athletic) it sounded like they haven’t been happy with the PP for a while now.

mojo in the top 6 is just billy trying to prove he was right when we know mojo was a big mistake.
That third line is a mess.
They need to trade for another top 6 forward now instead of at the deadline. Waive Gaudreau and drop Johansson...

Lauko - Khus - Foligno
Johansson - Trenin - whoever is available...
Maybe Wallstedt + Heidt for a top 6 forward. Wonder if Elias Pettersson is available? Sign Gus to a eight year contract.

at 2 x 2m/yr I wouldn't say "big". I have no problem with him being on the team at that cap hit, just don't see how he is a fixture in the top 6. He is an ok 3rd liner, to me.
The Trenin signing is much more egregious, IMO.
Duhaime with 7 points on the year already. Had a beautiful assist where he blew around the outside with speed that Trenin can only dream about, outmuscled a dman, then set up Dowd for a chip shot goal. Scored a goal later, with a similar outside move
Duhaime is much faster, physical, can drop the gloves(so guys like Middleton and Bogo don't have to)and can add some offense if given the chance, it appears, unlike Trenin. Add in the fact that he makes half of what Trenin makes. Put this series of moves in the minus column for BG.

I was a big fan of Duhaime. Thought he still had some potential and could be an eventual replacement for someone like Foligno.
Trenin was an overpay but he is scoring way below his average rate. Thats unlikely to continue as is Duhaime’s hot streak.
Definitely agree here. Duhaime was trending down for Minnesota: 17 in 80, 10 in 51, 8 in 62.
He's also playing 3 minutes more per game than his highest average with Minnesota.
Honestly lockdown Gus for another 4+ years...hell even 6 years takes him to he's only 32. Wallstedt isn't going to dislodge Gus and at this point trading Gus might not be a great idea.
I mean look at his teammates...also 10 in 51 turns out to be 16 in 80 and 8 in 62 turns into 10 in 80. Not a huge trending down point. He's also playing with Dowd and Raddysh who I would think is an upgrade over Foligno and Shaw.
Freddy has been rock solid this year. I’m not saying you don’t consider moving him for the right offer, but he’s been really good. I like the versatility that he, Marat & Hartman offer for bottom 6 Cs.
I don’t see us having 3 scoring lines like we did with Fiala until next fall when we have cap space, Yurov and no Mojo. Kind of stuck this year with two checking lines and two scoring lines.
I agree that we need a scoring W if we are serious about contending. Can’t count on Yurov coming over this spring and being an immediate difference maker
Mojo should definitely go. But he’s got the NMC so that’s not happening. Best we can hope for is a healthy scratch, because he is useless in a checking role
