Not the worst thing for UrGrin, and completely normal. Perhaps an object lesson for those(like me) who were bitter about Yurov staying in Russia for another year. Getting into, and making a permanent home in the NHL immediately in your D+3 year is not usual. Only 11 other 2022 draftees have had more NHL GP's than Ohgrehnn. Of those, Korchinski, Wright, Poitras, and Jiricek have also had their struggles, and been demoted.

Yurov is better than all of the guys listed in this post and played in a better league (KHL vs juniors vs Czech league). I fully believe he would have established himself this year.

Not a minnesota fan but wondering why the hell is Yakov Trenin not on your penalty kill?
He is slow and we have quite a few strong defensive players with speed, they are trying a more aggressive PK after years of massive under-performance when shorthanded. He is in the rotation but not a top pick for the kill.

JEE. Lauko, Khusnutdinov, Gaudreau are the main guys, then he is in with the next batch of Foligno, Boldy, Trenin.

Foligno is just a better version of him based on what we have seen, and Boldy is also excellent defensively and just learning the PK so likely will get more and more time throughout the season.

Hartman is ready, Ohgren sent down. Didn't surprise me, Ohgren has 0 points in 7 games, -2. TOI/GP 09:33. I guess he needs more time down there.

What’s Marat’s upside? Haula? He’s already a good bottom 6 guy but you’d like to see him use his skating a bit more. His wheels are genuinely a weapon.

As far as offense goes, I would like to see him keep it simple and get some more shots on the net.

Currently he's averaging only about ~0.3 shots per game.

I think he's looking ok. Seems to have a bit of chemistry with Lauko... the other guys in the bottom six not so much, at least offensively. I do like the way that Hynes has been getting him some shifts with Kap. I think there is more offense there than he has shown so far, but it ight take a year or two, and different linemates for it to develop.
Right now, he doesn't hurt the team. His speed, smarts, and defensive ability makes him trustworthy, for a rookie. Also, for a smaller guy, he is pretty strong on his skates, and wins his fair share of puck battles, especially in the open ice. I am pretty happy with his play.

The fully healthy Wild lineup last night didn’t look too bad. Chisholm for Merill is a positive, I liked Hartmann with Foligno and Gaudreau even though that line is pretty slow. When everyone is healthy the coaches have a lot of options to tweak the bottom 6 a little depending on the needs.

Top six is looking good with the exception of MoJo who isn’t outright bad but just not on the level of the other 5.

Rossi starts to really not feel like a stranger now on the first line like he did at times last year. I even think he is the glue that makes that line work and let’s both Zuccarello and Kaprizov do what they do best. Both of his last two assists are hard working plays down low digging for loose pucks getting them to his linemates with gutsy plays. Faceoffs are improved as well. Does not get enough credit for his play. The way Lapanta rejoiced when an early change from Rossi had Erikson Ek on the ice with Kap and Zucc really showed how little his game is appreciated outside the locker room. Very irritating. Just remember that this is only his sophomore season!

The team is fun to watch in any case. Confident and decisive. No fireworks but efficient and hard working. Hope it continues and the players stay healthy and this could become a special season.

How dare anyone have excitement that the best center on the team is out with the best winger for a few seconds!!

Not sure the first part is in question (at the moment at least). There is little doubt to me about the second part though listening to the Wild broadcast. But maybe that’s just me which is totally possible.

I still think the first two lines work perfectly for the Wild right now and a switch would not ignite anything. Not to mention they scored shortly after.

Don’t think anyone is calling for them to change. I’m just ribbing you a little bit. People pay closer attention to new or different things and that increases excitement level. Rossi has been top line all year and done really well, so Ek being out there is that “different thing” that could explain why LaPanta seemed rejoiced.

I’ll still bang my Connor McMichael drum, I just like the full game effort better than a Boeser and think the shot and net front play fit our needs well. Probably significantly cheaper contract wise too, though he’s taking off on the Wing this season. Might be past the point where it’s possible to fully exploit value, just like Casey Mittelstadt.
