After watching last night's game, my thought on lines going into season;
Kap- JEE - Zucc
- I'm all for having two dangerous lines, so am willing to break up Boldy and Kap. Jee is an uncomplicated shooter, and brings physicality, size and defense to a duo that lacks it. No brainer, for me.
Boldy- Rossi - Hartman/MarJo/Ohgren/
- Not thrilled with the way Hartman is playing. At least Marjo has some positive history with Boldy, and speed. Like the 2nd line of many teams, the 2nd winger is a weak spot. Jury still out on Ohgren.
Foligno - Marat - Hartman/Marjo/Ohgren
- Loving Marat, who seems to be gaining confidence. His speed compliments Foligno's brawn. Not impressed with Trenin so far, and would prefer someone who can keep up with Marat.
Lauko - Gaudreau - Trenin
- Freddy is pretty vanilla at this point, but can certainly center a couple of physical wingers 10-12 minutes/night. I don't want Ohgren playing on the 4th line.
I don't want Ohgren as the 13th man. Would rather he is playing with Bankier and Haight/Walker in Iowa for his offensive development. Bring him(or whoever is playing well) as needed. Too bad that Milne was hurt, again.
Brodin- Faber
- Faber is already a top 20 Dman, but playing with Brodin will only make him better. He's the ultimate security blanket, and certainly has some tricks to the trade that will benefit Faber's already strong defensive game, if he can pick them up.
Middleton- Spurgeon
- If Spurgeon can stay healthy this will be a sound 2nd pairing.
Chisholm - Bogo
- Chisholm had his first bad game of the preseason game against CHI, with two bad giveaways. Hopefully he learns from it. Otherwise, he has looked vg.
Hunt/Merrill
- think they should keep Hunt in Iowa till there is an injury to the D that will cause a long stretch of missed games, or if Chisholm starts messing up. Hunt needs to keep playing top minutes, not sit on the bench. Merrill is a non factor, to me, but that's what you get with a 7D.
