There's some new info. Kaprizov's Swedish visa is also valid in Norway and other Schengen area countries. The helicopter is the way he wants to do it, for his safety. Otherwise he'll have to land at Oslo Intl airport, and wait in line to get through border control. There he may get recognized, maybe by people who don't like Russians...

This written permission he got is also necessary, since Russians are banned. Confirms that his travel documents are sufficient.

I'm a Solberg fan for a while, he finished his first game in the SHL by beating up a guy and had 7 hits, also played well. I wish the Wild had a kid like this.

A little report from the charity game at the Lillehammer Olympic Arena last night, with 11,000 in the building it was definitely a success.

They played a full 60 mins game but the NHL team only had two lines, so they were exhausted after the game, good training though. The other team from the Norwegian EHL had a full lineup. NHL won 6-5.

Kaprizov scored twice, Boldy and Faber also scored. Gus obviously a little rusty.

But I noticed something I guess we already know, Zucc and Kap on a breakaway, they passed it back and forth until they ended up behind the net, couldn't score on a lower league goalie. Happened again, this time with Zucc and Ek. So Zucc refusing to shoot remains an issue, but with two lines over 60 mins he probably had enough with staying on his feet.

But it was a great event. And Kaprizov loved it, he even showed up alone on live television for an interview, his English has improved a lot. I was impressed.

Solberg simply wasn't available for us, unless you think that we should've picked him over Buium.

It was a charity game. Trying to make pretty passes is par for the course, but them ending up behind the net on a 2 on 0 is hilarious. Can't help but feel that the Wild Marketing would have a field day making an advert about it.

Zuccarello not being Webster’s avatar is a pure act of betrayal. I have no idea how to process this.

It caught me off guard too. I didn't mention it when I saw it because maybe he lost an avatar bet or something?

Don't worry, my buddy will be back there when the season starts. Then I'm not going to post on this board with the Anaheim Ducks jersey as my avatar.

Btw, the Wild got the best PP specialist...

I mean he might be a PP specialist, but PP zone time percentage feels more like a team stat. Especially since Zucc isn't the zone entry guy anyway.

I don't mean to be a hater or anything, I actually really like Zuccarello, but this stat is sort of a double edged sword. It's like being the top shot blocker on the team that had the most shots blocked - you "won" that honor by virtue of your team never having the puck while you're on the ice. Great.

In Zucca's case, he won that honor by the Wild being better at drawing penalties than actually capitalizing on them (3rd in the NHL vs 10th). It's good that he's offensively gifted enough at his age to be a go-to PP guy. It's not so good that they struggled a little bit to score there.

I wanna see his stats on passing up high danger area shot opportunites, if that's what you call it.
Bet he's on top of that list.

If there is a trophy for passing with a clear shot, it should be named after him. What is so frustrating is he is an accurate shooter.

GMBG has to have this Playoffs/Cup mentality or he'd be out of a job before the season starts. He had to have sold the buyouts to the owner as making the team better. If the goal was to miss the Playoffs 2 straight years; then there was 0 reason for the buyouts and the 8 years of dead cap that the carried.

I don’t think it’s outrageous for the Wild to be a playoff team this year :dunno:
It'll be a tough sled to pull though; Dallas, Colorado, Winnipeg, are good teams and Nashville and St. Louis have improved (well...we'll see but they've improved on paper). I can see the Central shaking out the same as it did with Dallas, Winnipeg, Colorado being the three teams to beat and Nashville, St. Louis and Minnesota being bubble teams. Who the hell knows about Utah and Chicago as well?

They have to say things like that to sell tickets. I am not sure that BG is the smartest GM out there, but even he has to know that they don't stand a chance at winning a Cup this year.
