If Yurov comes over, I'll be happy watching him, Rossi, Ohgren, Hunt, and maybe Wall establish themselves in the league. I am NOT on board with watching Freddy anywhere but on the 4th line, and don't want to see Letierri, Luchinni, or Shaw as anything but injury call ups. Merrill can also be left at some train station somewhere.

If Yurov doesn't come over, Ohgren is left down, and we go with the same shit next year then I will be watching less games.

And still putting up good numbers. Guerin lost a lot of goodwill with how he handled the Talbot situation.

Honestly, Talbot at 1 million is better than Fleury at 2.5 million (or even 3.5 million) or Gus at 3.75 million. But even then I wouldn't really want any of the goaltenders until they get their team straightened out.

Man Talbot and his agent is having the last laugh at Minnesota; Gus has been bad this season with a 3.06 GAA and a .899 SV% while only playing 45 games. Talbot has 53 GP and with a .915 SV% and a 2.46 GAA.

Didn't we trade Talbot because he was playing like crap here and then he threw a hissy fit because we brought in someone else who might not play like crap?

I guess we should have just kept Talbot forever, then he and his agent couldn't laugh at us

Also congrats to Faber for having the best defensive season for a rookie in Minnesota Wild's history. As good as Brodin's rookie season was, Faber was even better.

Also Rossi and Faber are top 5 in points. So a good season all around for Wild and their youth. Next year should be just as good if Yurov comes over.

Gaudreau is such a waste of a roster spot. He's not good enough to be a top 6 player and not fast enough or have the grit in his game to play in the bottom 6.

Most of the "coaches hate young players" stuff is because most of the young players are really just fringe quality players at the NHL level when they first get called up. So they get stuck in the bottom of the lineup because that's what they are as players.

Of the 4 major sports this is really only a thing for hockey. In MLB the kids bat lower in the lineup, are the middle relievers, or 4/5 starters. In the NFL (non-QB) the kids get used in situational sets as the 3/4 receiver, nickel DB, etc. In the NBA (non top picks) they come off the bench.

If you sign Lindholm for that Rossi needs to be moved to wing (or traded).

I'm a little leery of Lindholm, I haven't liked his game in VAN. It might just be a bad fit, but he looks like a different player than he was in CGY a couple years ago.

Yeah it’s risk reward but even what he’s been now isn’t terrible value at 6.5 imo. And I strongly believe he is going to play better here.

I don't think a 1 year deal makes much of a difference at all in that regard.

I think it just makes it clear that they aren't going to go shopping in UFA for anything but maybe a $2-$3 million player for the bottom 6/4th line.

Defense is set once Chisholm is re-signed.

There is just under $7m in space with 11 FWDs, 6 d-men, and 2 goalies signed for next year. A little more can be found if they send Merrill and Freddy G though waivers and bring up an ELC player in their spot.

The cap can work, I don't think it's something that GMBG would do.

Most of us we pulling a hissy fit when Evason chose to play Fleury over Talbot in the playoffs, when the stats said that Talbot was the better goalie.

Talbot's wife went public with her displeasure, which caused BG to make the trade.

$5.5m-$6m x 4 is the range I'd be willing to sign him in. I think he'll get more on the open market, but I won't lose sleep over MN not signing him to a $7m/y deal.

He just lost it this year. In the previous two or 3 he was a solid bottom sixer, with killer SO moves to boot.

loading up on a guy going into his 30's is almost never the way to go, especially when he showed signs of significant decline this year.
