A healthy 29 year old Monahan I would sign for another 3 years. He is a really good player.
I would not personally. Too old and got to make some room. We already have Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Newhook and Slaf. Roy will be knocking on the door next season. We got RHP too. There's always the possibility to acquire another young players for picks. Suzuki will be 25 next season and Caufield 23 and a half they are ready to take the lead of this team. We are also stuck with Gallagher and Dvorak. There's no place for Monahan next season imo.

Dach injury should not change the plan of the season.

1- Develop the young prospect we have and there will still be 5 of them of our Top 6.
2- Try to build some value out of our tradeable vets

So let's continue that plan......
Exactly. Dach’s injury was unfortunate, but this a rebuilding year. It was never anything else.

Specially since we have only two years left max of the rebuild. Trade Monahan and Pearson this year if they are healthy. Trade Dvorak and Savard next year even if fighting for a playoffs spot. After that Suzuki will be 26 in 2025-2026 rebuild will be over. Better stack picks and / or young players under 26 while we still can. Having elc coming in when Suzuki will be 27-28 will be crucial to manage the cap.

Anderson and Slaf have zero fu**ing chemistry. They were pretty much running into each other when they play on the same line. Also I hope they give second PP some more ice time, as bad as most of the cast is on that unit they always end up coming on with like 30 seconds left and having to regroup to even get set up in the o-zone.

Like someone said earlier, it’s not even clear if Anderson has chemistry with himself.

Thank god we kept Monahan around, we would probably be pretty boned right now otherwise. Either of Monahan or Newhook can step into that 2c role, and I still expect and hope some players to take steps forward this season. Guhle, Xhekaj and Kovacevic have impressed me on the back end, hopefully Slaf, RHP, Newhook and Ylonen can take steps forward up front, and Caufield challenge for 40 goals.

We will be a better team just by virtue of being healthier (please god...). I know it's a lot of doom and gloom right now, I'm as disappointed as anyone Dach is out. But there's no sense in writing off the season entirely just yet. Things rarely go exactly as we expect.

I don't know why but i'm just trying to imagine DD and Anderson trying to have chemistry together. Doesn't make any sense i know ... i blame that chemistry meme with Patch and DD.

Xhekaj vs Maroon is the reason I'm watching! Hopefully Pezz has some attitude tonight, too.

Last game ended with drama (the Sheriff was running after Rossi). The game before I think Dvorak got elbowed to the head by Spurgeon and was out for a while.

I don’t think much will happen in this game and they will try to win for Kirby but X & Pezz will probably have a short fuse if dubious hits happen

Pretty sure that was already the plan...
