The Wild were near the top of the league for the first 6 weeks of the season. They have been dropping like dead weight ever since. I imagine it will continue with their best player out for weeks.
I believe Fabor was out earlier but he hasn't hit the scoreboard much lately. One goal for January.

SBA is full most nights in the Winter.
Just funny that they have to take down all the stage shit, just to put the exact same set up again Thursday. Tix for show went on sale last year, before the NHL schedule came out, so odd from the promoters side of things to not have just gotten the shows back to back.

Yeah, no idea for the thought behind it.

Too bad Kaprizov isn’t playing. He’d have easily been the most entertaining player on the ice. He doesn’t do boring hockey.
We need to take advantage of his absence but they’ll still need to match the Wilds energy to pull out a win. We’ll struggle if we bring the usual effort they’ve been offering up lately.

Tanev is a really good D, but is it really the guy we needed? Scoring was the issue in the past couple of playoffs. I guess they are just hoping the big guns figure it out.
That's our only hope. I mean if these 4 forwards taking up over half the cap can't score, it's hard to see some TDL addition being the guy that gets it done for us.

We need a PPQB, someone that can hammer the puck from the point.
Special teams have been what has killed this team in ever playoffs.
We have two of them, just been an off year for OEL and Rielly in that department.

Fans don't seem to understand, that fowards play a big part in the defense too.

We can blame the D Corps all we want, but the fowards also need to be better.

Losing Kaprizov really hurt them.
Brodin being out also hurts, a lot. He is, at a minimum, a top 5 defensive Dman in the league. Spurgeon just got back from injury(ugly slew foot by L'Heureux), and is slowly getting his game back. Faber was also out with a concussion until recently.

Teams can lose top players for a week or two and get by, but eventually the absences show up on the scoresheet. You can't rely on working harder than other teams, night in, night out.

Hopefully the Leafs will have their classic colours on tonight, and not those weird black things?

Drop the puck already, it's been a very long week it seems.

Amen to that.

Team could really use Domi to step it up, contribute something positive.

Yeah wouldn't that be nice?

He made some nice passes to Matthews when they played together for a stretch last year. I'm sure Nylander would appreciate it if Domi could get his game back together enough to do the same for him a few times tonight.
