I understand math, I'm just not obsessed with it.Now do you believe me about taxes?
This deal feels similar to the Beck Malenstyn trade where everyone was shocked by the return. Seems like the NHL is really starting to value these tough defensive specialists who can handle 14 minutes a night of tough deployments and PK duty, and how they let you shelter the other lines by soaking up all the DZ shifts. The guy averages 14+ minutes p/g. He isn't a 8-10 minute 4th liner, like some MN was trotting out at the end of the year. As the cap goes up, and MN's cap penalties go away, this will seem like a moderate contract. Size and hitting is a skill, and you have to pay for it.
Please, no NMC's or NTC's!
Are these puckpedia/razehockey numbers accurate?
The fact that Trenin had no acquisition cost also factors in his price. He cost the Av's a 3rd for a couple of months. This deal feels similar to the Beck Malenstyn trade where everyone was shocked by the return.
