Brazeau could probably be viewed as a very poor man's Jordan Greenway. Wingspan for days. Slow and awkward stride, but has solid IQ. Fairly strong possession player. He would be a more effective forechecker if he could get to spots on time. Reminds a bit of Jimmy Hayes in that regard. Effort is there, but not really the execution. Good kid who earned his chance in the NHL. Was pretty exciting early on for Boston coming out of the ECHL to the AHL and then making the big squad...but his offense cratered this season. If he finds his game and any level of consistency, or plays with skilled shooters, he a is a good net front, cycle guy.

He's also 27.

While we likely know who Lauko is at this point, he is 24. Khuznutdinov is 22. Bruins needed to add speed and a bit of youth. Who knows if Marat will pan out to anything more than a depth forward, but he was a high draft pick and should get a better look in Boston than he did in MIN.

Bruins fans expected no more than a 4th or 5th rounder for Brazeau, so I think we view this trade as a nice little haul.

Brazeau uses his size but not to intimidate. He uses it to battle in the corners sure and most effectively as a net front presence. Wish he had some snarl to his game but that's just not him.

No chance. He did not fight or start scrums but he was willing to hit and hit hard. One of the few Bruins who do along with Zadorov and Kastelic.

This narrative needs to end.

Slow? Yes.
Bottom 6 depth? Absolutely.
Trade value? Apparently, although the 6th round pick alone is what we likely anticipated.

I agree. I never understood the Brazeau is soft crowd. He didn't fight but he laid clean hard hits when it was there and engaged in front of the net. I think the size fooled people into thinking he should be an angry Hulk.

No one said that. Obviously there was a major drop off after those two....

But if you watch his shifts you would see his effort to finish hits rather than pulling up as every other Bruin such as Zacha, Coyle, etc does.

One of his hits was easily as impactful as 10 Frederic hits if you ask any of the defenseman being forechecked. Guaranteed.

Brazeau should have been the 10th most physical forward but he was easily at the top of the list for whatever it is worth.
He hit as hard as Sean Thornton used to.

Wouldn’t call him soft, he’s just not overly physical. Like you said he’ll throw a hit if it’s there but he’s not going out of his way to throw the body. Ideally he’d be a little more aggressive imo but it may just be a speed thing

He makes his living just outside the blue paint though, anybody who does that isn’t soft.

Wow......... 🤣

Some rando on a hockey board calls guys he doesn't know from Adam "useless twats".

I call him out on that. Because it's unnecessary, ignorant, and stupid. Common theme in our social media world, sadly.

You then respond by equating that to me somehow "worshiping them"?

Maybe I'm wrong????? Maybe the world really is full of useless twats. Take that however you please.
I didn't mean to upset you. Have a great day!

Gonna miss Brazeau. Thought he was always making smart plays and completing passes unlike everyone on the Bruins throwing the puck to the front of the net blindly hoping for the best trying to pass through 3-4 other guys.
He did kind of fall of the past week or two but who knows, maybe the thought of being traded got to him.

He's deadly on the PP, still not sure why the B's didn't try him on the first line PP when they're 2nd? last in that category.

Will welcome Lauko back with open arms though.

dang man the more Bruins submit opinions the more I don't like this. Maybe we gave extra if BOS would drop their complaint about medical issues?
