...and f*** off to none of those rosters having Bouchard as a dman on team Canada.

We all know these rosters are based on the here and now and like a big All Star game... so don't bs about "defensive abilities".

Makar is minus 2
Theodore is minus 2

Bouchard is #5 in scoring among Canadian dmen and is +4. He absolutely should be in consideration for that glorified All Star game series.
Bah, It’s a fake tournament.

Go to Jamaica for 5 days and relax. Come back, win the Stanley Cup.
4 Nations what?

...Janmark hit the highest recorded speed in the NHL so far this season last night apparently.
Thats very impressive.
I remember one play in last nights game where Janmark carried the puck into the Avs zone and his speed was such that I was surprised it was Janmark.
That might well be the play where they recorded that speed.

I honestly didnt know he had that in him.

Guess I missed out on yet another good one. Our depth came through big time. Podkolzin just might be turning the corner. 3 goals in 3 games all of a sudden. Not bad when you remember that not long ago he had a goose egg. He's starting to remind me of Ryan Jones in a lot of ways. Even Skinner did his part and made some decent saves from the highlights I saw. Things seem to be looking up.

Unlikely while he's getting 13 minutes a night on the 3rd/4th lines, Knoblauch is basically giving him the Ralph Krueger treatment.
Yea it's telling when the coach still won't put you in the top 6 when 3 of your 4 top 6 wingers are out.

Gonna get worse with players coming back.

That said, he is on a winning team for the first time in his career. I think he figures it out.

Especially the ones on HF. They collectively act like they played in the final to get the Avalanche a cup.

Nailed it. That's the exact feeling I get from some of their posters. Odd bunch. Though to be fair, most of the Avs fans I've met in person are really arrogant and annoying as well

A drinking game last night was seeing how many misplays Makar was making. All the AV's stars were struggling with puck movement, decisions, putting passes blindly or on Oilers sticks. I think with the lack of depth on AV's lineup they were all overplaying and f***ing up. Even on the PP.

Couple games of production and that could change fast. It always seems to, when players are playing good, they get a promotion.
Haven't seen much merit based promotion going on under Knoblauch so far, he seems to like his trios and plays them through thick and thin.

Makar played 30 minutes(!) in Dallas the night before lol. Hopefully they keep running him into the ground.

At this point you seriously have to look at selke nominations for Draisaitl. Absolute unbelievable 2 way game from him this season and 17 goals to boot ?
I think he deserves consideration early-ish into this season so far.

For a handful of years they were very top heavy but then finally when they won the cup not long ago they had insane depth across all 4 lines. But since then they lost it all and are right back to being a top heavy team. They aren't getting anywhere soon without it. Maybe a round or two if their top players go into hockey God mode and their awful goaltending can steal a few. But no one would be surprised if they are bounced again early.

Best game of the year for the boys, and great to have some complimentary scoring helping out. They did a fantastic job of getting into passing and shooting lanes consistently. And Fatso had a great game in net as well.

It would be funny if McDavid told Armstrong that he can't attend because he received an offer sheet from his wife to go to Cabo for a few weeks in February.

Alas, McDavid has been screwed out of representing Canada numerous times so he'll be eager to play.
I look forward to it.
