I hope he continues to get the help he and his family needs him to receive.

I'd love for him to continue as a Bruin but I don't know if it's the right thing to do. I hope the Bruins talk with his family and see how they feel, and then the rest of the team before making a decision.

My opinion is this. Milan has had a tough several years. His dad’s death and his drinking. His wife knows him better than anyone. Maybe she knows the Milan that night is not the man she married. Maybe she knows the booze and his mental health had taken over and the man he became is not the man she married. Maybe he is actually putting the work in and getting the help he needs to become that guy she first fell in love with again. Maybe she finally sees the man she knows. Who are we to judge and tell her what she should do. If that’s the case and they can be a family again and live their lives happy and healthy God bless them.

I don’t care if he ever plays hockey again. All I want is for this man to turn his life around and be the man she knows. To her, to their kids, and most of all to himself. I come from a home where my dad was an alcoholic and beat my mother. Witnessed it too many times. He never got help and lived his life the same way after my mom found the courage and strength to say no more. This case brought back memories of me to that time and I pray Milan isn’t like my dad. I hope he truly asked for help because there is no shame in asking for help. It’s one of the bravest things you can do when mentally and emotionally are falling. That’s where I stand. I would just like to see the Lucic family be able to come together as one and Milan be the man to them he should be and hopefully wants to be.

I hope that all those who assault their spouses go to prison.

The human in me says keep him away from the team and let him work on repairing his relationship and work on himself away from the rink. The fan in me wants to see him on the 4th line.

It’s a tough thing to reconcile. I feel like there should be deeper repercussions for him. But at the same time I don’t want his wife feeling like she ended his career either. It is not her fault at all- it is entirely Milan’s- but I can absolutely see that weighing on her given that it appears they’re working on things. It’s just such a shitty situation.

As disgusting as it is to abuse, I do I think that most abusers have underlying issues and the way to go is address the issue and rehabilitation. The victim, the kids and the abuser all benefit in a positive way if they can turn their life around.

Separating kids from their parent is the last thing we should want unless completely necessary.

It is so nice to see a good discussion going on here.

People don't agree on everything but are being respectful.

It is refreshing.

I think everyone can easily see that there are two sides to the story, and the family dynamic behind it is complicated, and very, very personal. At least I hope so. Me, I'm still torn, and will need some time to think about it, so I'll keep my thoughts to myself.

My biggest surprise is the main board hasn't picked up on it yet. Those vultures are always quick to pick the bones of any Bruin in the news.

They can’t terminate the contract easily at all - especially with todays legal events. They can’t waive him. They can’t send him to Providence (except on a conditioning stint). If he wants to play he’s playing, unless Bettman suspends him (which again would be a pretty big reach and would trigger an instant grievance).

If this thread ends with this post then I would be ok with it. Well put, sir.

As much as I would love to see Looch learn and grow from this while re-donning the spoked B, It will follow him. Especially, on here. HFboards will be a mess if he plays any games this season.

Lol if this were someone on one of the other teams these comments wouldn’t be so nice I didn't see Austin Watson get similar support

Charges were dropped because of a technicality and his wife not wanting to press charges. Rinse repeat.

They should do the same thing they did with Miller, keep him on the books I guess and don't let him play

next step would be release from Players Assistance Program.

I dont know timing or what triggers that. What actions on his part triggers his release.

It's really hard to know what the right outcome is.....lots of good comments from a number of different perspectives

first let's realize we don't know the complete story, we probably never will and that actually is a good thing. Whether this was an isolated occurrence or a pattern of behavior; how much this may have been influenced by his father's suicide or by a drinking problem, and why Brittany decided not to testify are all topics none of us have complete insight into and therefore we don't have a complete picture.

the legal process is over, the rehab continues, hopefully the family is healing and the NHL and the Bruins will now weigh in on whether he gets a chance to play. Whether Looch returning to the ice is a good thing is a determination for smarter minds than me to decide.

The hard truth is if he’s out of PAP, the Bruins really don’t have a say on whether he’s on the roster or not.

I'll be shocked if the Bruins allow him back.
This team has had some unwanted controversies in the last couple of years and bringing him back could open another can of worms.
I'm conflicted about the situation.
I wonder what Margaret Jacobs thinks...
