Mikko Rantanen Appreciation Thread

Guys, everyone's disappointed we lost in the first round, and feelings are mixed about Mikko's amazing playoff run here, but let's all remember we are a community, and want exactly the same thing :) Let's all be nice and kind to each other. There's much more serious issues in the world to be negative to each other about.

Remember, through it all we are AVS fam, and we stick together, through thick or thin.

This disappointment will drive the team next season.

Rule Number One: You always keep the dawgs.... #96

But what he didn't say was
Rule Number Two: You're only a dawg when you win a championship.
Rule Number Three: A championship lasts one summer. After which, you are no longer a dawg.

Rule Number Three is the bitch. Not one single player on our team is a dawg anymore. Hell, they're not even a bunch of daisies, bowing out in the first round and second round like they do. More like annoying dandelions for other teams to mow over.

I can't imagine that some reporter or tweeter even said Jamming down Colorado's throat. I know we sometimes clash with each other but to say something like that is pretty nasty.
So much gets lost in translation and the fact that journalists are paid for clicks not trustworthiness should lead everyone to not believe what they see represented until they have actually verified it through multiple sources. Currently, I require three different sources... but considering how quickly AI is proliferating I should probably up it to four or five sources or have a better definition of what constitutes a source.

I will say some of the AI reels my wife has shown me with Mikko just absolutely brutilizing the Avs with filthy language has been absolutely hysterical. The sad thing is that they are so lifelike. My friends, we are sailing into an area of human history that would have been marked on ancient maps as "Here be dragons".

Oh no, I completely believe the Avs choke late in games. That is not, or should not, be hard for an follower of the Avs to see. The Avs have one game in the last decade where they defended a lead properly... that was the third period of Game 6 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals.

It's more about the journalists and how much we can trust them. If they are talking about the Avs you can almost gaurantee they are talking shit or the wheels are already in motion for it being done. The Avs did not discuss going after Mitts, they didn't discuss going after Brock. Hell, they didn't even discuss going after Kadri. Fact is, if a reporter is talking about the Avs... the Avs are probably shutting down whatever it was they were discussing.

As for this game... I still blame one and only one person. Jared Bednar. The man with the plan. The man who tells who when to get on the ice and what to do while out there. How anyone blames any player or General Manager for this shit show is beyond me.

The fact that CMac redoubled his wagon to Bednar now has me on the fire CMac train. This is his second coach, and much like his first coach... nothing is going to change. I just wish we could flash forward to the point where we fire CMac and allow Cogliano to hire his own new HC.
