Great game. Gotta give BU credit. They woke up after the 1st period and played a much better game.

Yegorov is looking to be a blue chipper in goal. Still a long way to go in his development but, so far so good. He was solid tonight. The 1 goal he gave up was going to take a miraculous save to keep out of the net. The good thing is he stayed composed after and looked calm in net all game.

im not sure how necessary this is considering how many ppl seemed to have watched lol but in any case

5th consecutive start and the biggest stage hes played (at least in NA)
  • continues to be unfazed by play breaking down and coming in tight to his crease. holds strong down low/in butterfly, tracks the puck well, shows excellent reflexes, stays upright/large/poised in spite of pressure (deflections/bounces/second chances/etc.)
  • as everyone keeps raving about, hes big, super athletic, and super quick to react. not every save is the prettiest, and id prefer he swallow more first attempts than he does right now, but hes getting to many, MANY pucks. feels like he has a chance to make a save on pretty much any shot he sees
  • no chance on the goal he let up, BU D completely dropped perreault back door. could probably complain about initially reading low shot on it (thus killing his extension attempt) but i mean...the play was over the instant the pass was made
  • gave up a self inflicted high danger wraparound chance off an inability to cover the puck. got lucky it didnt go. was under siege for most of the 1st so ill cut him a break, but thats the 2nd time now ive seen him just kinda...miss on doing so
  • didnt get shelled as much in the 2nd but i really dont think BU D was that much better, offense just woke up and BC didnt have the puck as often. yegorov still had to make some dandies. 3rd wasnt as busy
  • 43/44 in the beanpot final? come on...and its not just that, hes the only reason BU even had a chance to win this, they looked dead in the water in the 1st
the phrase "standing on his head" was invented for these types of showings. outstanding performance, BU legitimately couldnt have asked for better. notes might sound a little critical, but i think its important to highlight that theres still work to be done here. honestly, this early into his career, i view it as a positive thing anyway. look at what hes doing now with a wonky glove, trouble corralling pucks, etc., and then imagine where he'll be it if he gets those things in check
