Seems like a lack eye in player relations.
If you can tell us all exactly what happened behind the scenes, and why that didn't stop players from signing with us this summer, we're all ears. Otherwise, it's just speculation. For all we know, it could be the polar opposite--DL gave Richards chance after chance to make things right and finally cut ties after showing a ton of loyalty. Just depends on what people want to believe.

My first thought.
My second is that I hope I'm not dead by then
You mean, we'll actually, finally, see the end of the Mike Richards threads?
Players are more objective than you think. Money and other factors (NMC, ability to win Cups, chances for ice time) have a much larger impact on the average FAs desire to sign in L.A. than how Dean dealt with a player who turned out to be an ALLEGED drug abuser/peddler/possessor.

I don't at all disagree. Just contesting the viewpoint that is main board doom-and-gloom, i.e. the Kings are classless and players won't want to deal with that management group after this, while keeping in mind that more players signed with us this summer alone than the last how many years combined Everywhere else it's "poor Mike Richards, how could the Kings do this to him" when no one knows what 'this' is. We're all just hoping to find out now!
Yeah but the players that signed with us were off the scrap, heap.

I wouldn't bet on it.
Fans of other teams are very concerned with Mikey. They just want what is fair for him.
Wonder if more details on the arrest or mines previous drug issues will leak out now that this is settled. If not, politicians should hire Mike Richards for tips on keeping the details of scandals from getting out.
If people were being honest with themselves they'd just admit they wanted what was worst for the Kings and Mike Richards was an afterthought, if there were one.
If I was being honest I would admit that I want what is best for the kings and that richards is an after thought
