So a good ol' disgusting misuse of power over a junior player

Can't believe I let him fool me with all the media he did after the hire
Yeah nobody go back and read my posts in the Babcock thread from last weekend or earlier. Probably a couple of WOAT posts in there.

Who deserves to be the next GM when this is all said and done?
Probably depends on how the owners see JD's contribution in this fiasco. If they think he's indeed responsible for this and deserves to be fired then I'd guess there will be a months-long search for the new lead of hockey ops, which could be introduced next spring/summer. And that could be anybody. But if they let him continue I think there's a greater chance that the next GM will be an internal hire or one of JD's old buddies.

He broke the Laine contract. So it’s probably legit.

I’m thinking a new assistant coach because if it was Jarmo I think we would have heard it by now
Yeah he's good buddies with Laine. Plays golf with him in the summers. Im not sure whether he also has connections to Jarmo or Ville Siren

One more time. Babcock did it in Detroit and Toronto too. A lot of dirt was poured on him, but NOBODY, I repeat, NOBODY complained about this!!!

So I'm wondering, on what basis is Jarmo supposed to leave? Does he have the crystal ball to know that today's players are like that? I understand that anyeone doesn't like to show their pics. But Babs wanted to get to know them more, he showed his too. His only mistake was that he did it rather clumsily. But he can't be blamed for the bad intent.

Babcock did a lot of stuff in the past. And was ”banned” from the league because of that.

The first thing Jarmo and Babcock tried to prove after this signing was that he’s a changed man. Apparently he wasn’t. Therefore it was a bad judgment by Jarmo (or JD if it was his hire).

This whole debacle may also reveal who in the CBJ organization wanted Babcock - JD, Jarmo, owners, everybody? If there's a division, maybe it goes all the way to the top.

If Jarmo was a main driver in the hire, I fully expect him gone soon. He can only survive if he was against it or some way cautious. We all assume it was Jarmo (and JD) but this could've been a complicated hire...

My most likely guess? Jarmo also resigns and takes a page out of Babcock's "negotiating an exit" book. Flynn or Nash interim GM (or maybe both?).
