Who was Jensen partnered with? If Chabot has a good year, even with a probable 10-15 games worth of injury, watch Nick's #s rebound. I'm debating if he might be even better with Sanderson where as Chabot and Zub already have chemistry from past years.
I think Sanderson should be paired with our best RD, which barring a surprise, is Zub. He’s going to get the most difficult match-ups so he needs the better partner.

The unfortunate thing for Chabot is he never seems to get a stable partner and I don’t know if Jensen is ideal for more than this upcoming season given his age — but what can you do I guess. Hopefully at least for this season it helps him out.

Edit: I guess this should be in the Jensen thread but whatever

He's a lazy player and Andlauer/Staios clearly think this team had a culture/effort problem under D.J.

They paid a steep price in trade value to fix it.

The moves , including the Green hiring, paint a really clear picture and make you wonder about the commitment of the guys that didn't survive the cull.

Kelly in particular is a head scratcher for me. Suspect it's as much about the personalities as it is their play.
I believe Kelly was looking for a raise so he was let go. I think if he had accepted here what Avs ended up offering him, he'd still be here. I remember JM liking him as he competed every shift.

We had him a few years ago and he was nothing special. Seems like an overpayment for someone with like 20 something career high in points and most of his years were split between NHL and AHL.

Did he really impress people? He couldn't even crack our terrible team lol.

Looks like I was right.

Rewatched his highlight rell and he just isn't as quick as he looked there. Maybe he is fighting a groin pull but he makes Jason Allison look like Michael Grabner

I was never really impressed when Ottawa played against him. The few playoff games I watched, sure. But generally seemed to be invisible to me. Maybe I just didn't watch the same games as others. I was disappointed with the signing...and what I'm seeing now is what I remember seeing from him. Some good grinder moments here or there. Defensive conscious. But not overly fast or skilled or physical. That's exactly what I'm still seeing. You can pay these guys a million bucks a year and they're available each summer. I didn't see the reason to pay him this much unless it was for the playoffs where he might be more likely to elevate his game compared to other 4th liners.

He's a great option for a 4th line role at a low salary, like he played in Vegas for 12 mins a night at 750k

He's not great in a meaningful role at a meaningful salary. He's not cut out for a top 9 role, where he's in the position that is generally moved up the lineup with injuries, at 2.6 million

I like him as a 3rd liner, he plays a smart game, but he's definitely bottom 6 not middle 6.

Funny how time changes things. You and I are post 6 & 7 in this thread praising the signing.
