He's been a #1 center for the last 3+ seasons. On a recent 32T podcast. Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek were discussing Zibanejad. They said is #1 center in the league. Elliotte said someone said to him that Zibanejad is underpaid at $8.5M AAV. It was one of their podcasts from last week.
kind of like how Fox wasn't considered a #1 D until AFTER he won the Norris lol. The Canadian media, especially, loves to discount the Rangers idk whyI'm assuming you mean A #1 center not THE #1 center? If so, that's been the case at least since 19-20. The fact that people are breaking this news now shows how underrated he is or at least was.

Thank God he's underpaid now. The contract takes him until he's at an age where maybe 3 players still produce at a 60ish point level. Maybe he'll be one of them. To be fair they brought him up to say that he's probably one of the most underrated players in the world. They said he's in consideration as a top 10 player in the league.I'm assuming you mean A #1 center not THE #1 center? If so, that's been the case at least since 19-20. yeah Shane O'brien said it on NHL radio today too, that he's playing like a top 10 player in the world. He said top 5 at first but then walked it back lol.To be fair they brought him up to say that he's probably one of the most underrated players in the world. When he was rolling at the end of 19-20, there was no doubt in my mind he was a top 10 player at that moment. To be fair they brought him up to say that he's probably one of the most underrated players in the world. They said he's in consideration as a top 10 player in the league.
Best one-timers in the league:When he was rolling at the end of 19-20, there was no doubt in my mind he was a top 10 player at that moment.
Is there a single player in the league you want at the top of the right circle on the PP than him? Used to be Ovechkin. Maybe MacKinnon? Different players in that spot, but equally effective.
Then he is big, can skate, solid on draws, physical, great passer, elite shot, and the last piece missing was a national TV audience nightly for 6 weeks where he was phenomenal.
Laine. But he's been injured a lot lately.Best one-timers in the league:
Ovechkin
Stamkos
Zibanejad
then who's next? Malkin is probably the best from the opposite side, or at least he was. Kucherov too. Pettersson is getting there. But as far as rhs Zibby is up with the big boys.
I’d like to hear thoughts on:
1) Mika hall of fame
2) Mika number retirement
I think his number gets retired by the rangers if he finishes his contract.
HoF is clearly a tougher task but he’s over halfway to 1000 points and an I crazy to think his best years lie ahead?
Or he gets a massive DJ deal at MSG like Billy Joel and Harry Styles.Barring anything catastrophic he is very likely to end his career top 3-4 all time in goals and points as a Ranger, if not higher, so yea pretty likely the number gets retired

Tampa has 4 in the top 20. Kucherov at 5, Hedman at 8, Vasi at 10 and Stamkos at 20.Not that these ratings are gospel but does any other team have 4 top 25 players?

He's not as good as Barzal though according to Isles fans.
To be fair they had a dynamite power play. Personally I'm a big believer in barzal, he's an incredible talent. I would definitely take zibanejad over him no question, but he's a phenom tooIt's all Trotz's fault that Barzal's numbers are down. Funny how Trotz didn't hurt Ovechkin, Backstrom, and Kuznetsov's numbers.
That list is ass.ESPN's top 100 has him at 16th overall:
