Microsoft Xbox Discussion Part II

I wonder if this 2027 XBOX will be a noticeable jump in quality from the SX. The jump from One/OneX to Series X wasn't anything crazy.

The SSD was the biggest leap. One X had more teraflops than Series S IIRC, but the SSD gave the decisive edge to the latter. The Series X is way more powerful than the One X, having owned both I've seen the difference.

Feels weird to hear about new Microsoft and Sony consoles when it feels like this generation hasn't really gotten off the ground.

Interesting. This would be for the next-gen Xbox?
Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans tell me that the company is currently working on an Xbox app update that will show every game you have installed on your PC. That includes games from Steam and the Epic Games Store, and I understand Microsoft will label these games accordingly.

This must be the best stretch of new releases ever on gamepass?

Indiana Jones, Avowed, Atomfall, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expidition 33, Doom: The Dark Ages etc

Virtuos leaked some marketing assets for the game on their website lol. I like the new look but the art style is definitely a bit different from the original game. Looks like the game will be coming out sometime next week and is apparently coming to PS5 day one as well.

The Oblivion remaster is cool and all, but I'm here refreshing my email for my Marathon alpha invite...

The tariffs are giving companies cover to make price increases that they’ve wanted to make for years.

Trump’s tariffs are idiotic, but even if/when he’s booted from office and they’re rescinded, I dont expect prices to drop back down.

This is the new normal.

The last time we had a major downward price refresh, it was due to an new entrant in the console war looking for an advantage, and the introduction of new tech into the industry (optical disks and drives vs cartridges).

SNES games were selling anywhere from $50 to $100 before the Playstation came in and basically set eveey game at a standard $50z

Tariffs don't have anything to do with this, its simply more expensive to produce this hardware now. Sony and Microsoft have already raised the price of their consoles in various regions. This is just the first time it's happening in NA.
