Not really, I was right that they would try to close the loophole. I was still correct despite them backtracking, do you think this will never happen again?

Who knows where they go from here. However, GPU is such a better deal than the Playstation equivalent which requires you to buy PS Plus and PS Now - and PS Now sucks.

Thats all well and good, but the point is whether or not the backtracked makes no difference. I was still right.

And how many times do I have to say this: Paying for online is a scam. Pay for it begrudgingly like I do, dont act like youre getting value from it. Pay for it with the knowledge that a corporation is making you pay for your own internet twice and let the resentment build inside of you.

As of late-September this year (the most recent #'s I can find) there were over 15 Million subscribers. People still pay for Live, it's just integrated into Game Pass now so our dumb little gamer brains can ignore it. Microsoft having their heads up their butts with trying to force people into GamePass by cranking up the price of Live doesn't change anything. You're just as wrong as you've always been. Both sides are wrong, technically speaking, but only you've managed to be this smug.

It's called being tongue-in-cheek.

I never said Live isn't included, I said the opposite. I said you're not getting added value just because it's included. You're getting nothing. It's your own internet. But I've repeated myself on this like a thousand times. I'm sure people are tired of hearing it.

I agree with you, people have become so inured to paying for online they don't complain, but it is ridiculous.

I've have Gamepass for like 2 more years at a $1 a month but I barely use it. I'll use it when Halo comes out but I'm kind of stuck with the games I'm already invested in. New Forza yeah. You can count me in the camp that hiking Xbox Live would be annoying because, for me, I don't know if I see the value in Gamepass. For the more dedicated gamers it's an excellent value, especially with EA included now. Keep them separate.

I've had Live for what... 15 years or when it launched. I will say the service overall compared to others is 2nd to none. It has always worked very well and I don't mind paying for that peace of mind. My PSN service on PS3/4... couldn't deal with it. Such a clusterf*** at times. It's nice to see when companies respond to the backlash, shows they are paying attention.

The Medium comes out today - free on Gamepass. Yakuza Remastered also got added to Gamepass today.

I already love Gamepass, but I’m drooling at the thought of Gamepass + all the studios Microsoft has now. In a few years we’re going to be getting spoiled.

Just finished it.

Pretty good game imo.

Kind of disliked the ending though.

Control got the Series X|S upgrade today, but only for the Ultimate edition, which is NOT the version that is on Gamepass (however, you get a slight discount as a Gamepass member). The update has two modes - Performance mode or Graphics mode. Performance offers 60fps, while Graphics scales it back to 30fps but adds beautiful ray-tracing.

I’m about three hours in and I love it! Such a great game so far!

I wanna say I'm about 5 hours in. At first, I was iffy. The camera angles and such are a little frustrating, and I was confused as to why this game needed so much power. Once you get into the dual-world aspects, it all makes sense. I'm having a lot of fun with it. One jump kinda got me. I find it extremely difficult to play during the day, especially because my cat loves starring out my bedroom window so I gotta keep it open and there's a glare.

I’ve been wanting to play control as I bought it at a deep discount over Christmas.

The Medium’s camera angles are like a movie. I love it!

That’s weird because that’s the one that’s supposed to be optimized for next gen. I just played the BC version of the game.

You’re right, it is strange. I’ve checked Reddit and Google and it seems to be a common problem. It’s unfortunate because I paid $50CAD to get the upgraded game plus DLC. If I knew it would crash this much, I would have stuck with the Gamepass version.

There’s been some sloppy errors from publishers so far in the Series X/PS5 era. Cold War would shut off the console during the first week or two. Valhalla was decently smooth for me but I’ve heard of a lot of errors. Madden is brutal with freezing and powering down, and now Control. I don’t blame Xbox, just publishers pushing to get their game and updates out without fully testing it.

The rumour is that Xbox is set to announce this month that they’ll be doubling frame rates for backwards compatible games.

This would allow older generation games locked in at 30fps to bypass developer interaction and run smoothly at 60fps. I’m excited
