Indiana Jones - $79.99 - 1 million copies sold = $79,990,000
COD - $79.99 - 1 million copies sold = $79,990,000
Starfield - $79.99 - 1 million copies sold = $79,990,000
Halo - $79.99 - 1 million copies sold = $79,990,000
Fable - $79.99 - 1 million copies sold = $79,990,000
Forza - $79.99 - 1 million copies sold = $79,990,000

= $479,940,000

Indiana Jones + COD + Starfield + Halo + Fable + Forza + etc. - $25 - 1 million downloads = $25,000,000 * 12 months = $300,000,000

$20/month which is really most likely $25/month after taxes is a lot of money, Xbox had a pretty good showcase but those games have got to be home runs to entice me. Indiana Jones and Call of Duty isn't going to cut it. I think I'd rather just pay the $75/year for Xbox Live. We'll see.
Who the hell pays monthly when you you just stack up on GamePass Core codes, which you can buy much cheaper online and then buy one months of Ultimate?

The numbers really aren't that simple. Not everyone subbed to Game Pass would buy all those games, and they certainly wouldn't all be at full price. Valve and Sony also take their cuts from sales on their respective platforms. People on Game Pass also buy DLC/microtransactions for games they may not have played otherwise.

Not saying your point is wrong (obviously there's a reason for the recent changes) but it's more complicated than that.

And who buys Netflix when you can share passwords. They’ve changed the conversion rate on that haven’t they?

Actually you no longer can.

3 years of Core gets you 2 years of Ultimate. Still way cheaper than just one year of the official price of Ultimate. I got 2 year of Gold (before they changes it to Core) whinc ended up being two 4 X 3 months and then 12 months of Core, which I submitted in Janaury. But I made the mistake of unchecking the box (Automatic renewal) with those 3 month codes and only got Ultimate until August 2025 (36 month limit would've been exceed). Bu I have the unused 12 months of Core and when the tax returns come early next month, I'm buying 2 more years.

The biggest mistake is Day One stuff. There really is no demand for Xbox games anymore if you just get them Day One with Gamepass.

I predict Day One stuff will stick around, but it will eventually be moved to a much more expensive tier. I see "Gamepass Ultimate Plus" in the future.

I don't see the relevance.
You dont see the parallels with the conversion thing? They've been gradually phasing it out for ages, they even announced a price double of Core/Gold until they walked it back. They can flip the switch at anytime. Game Pass is gradually getting more and more restrictions and more and more price tiers (and increases), the honeymoon is effectively over.

Although tbh, the price is much more reasonable on PC, its currently console players getting killed.

Like I said, the price isn't an issue if you're not lazy and search for cheaper codes from online stores.

Whoever comes up with the names of these consoles and changing/expanding the choices of game pass tiers is doing a good job of making things confusing for their customers.

I just picture a grandma trying to buy their grandchild the latest xbox with game pass. Might as well send her to Micro Center to build a PC at this point.

How long before they're all mysteriously let go.
Microsoft has been very supportive of unions across their various divisions. Especially on the Xbox side.

The month after the union election, Microsoft announced that it would stay neutral if any of Activision’s roughly 7,000 eligible employees sought to unionize with the Communications Workers of America — meaning the company would not try to stop the organizing, unlike most employers. Microsoft later said that it would extend the deal to studios it already owned.

They don't want the game to get overshadowed by bigger titles in the fall, it makes sense, not sure why they couldn't just say that.

I predicted that the game would be delayed when the original release date leaked (November 12th, the same day as AC Shadows). With STALKER 2 being delayed into November as well it was pretty obvious this would happen
