Microsoft Xbox Discussion Part II

It worked for me last time, I let mine lapse for a few months before I got my Series X, and I was able to restart with Live, and then convert over, but that was close to a year ago

I guess I may give it a try later this month when mine runs out

Does this work if your subscription for game pass ultimate runs out. Or is it only for new subscribers? My gamepsss ultimate is about to run out on the 17th and was wondering if I could do the Gold upgrade again.

My UPG ran out in March, I bought a 12 month Live Gold code, then bought a one month UGP from the MS Store and found myself with 13 months of UGP.

I also bought two 12 month EA Play codes, because at the time they converted into 4 months of UGP. They changed the conversion on that in May so it only converts into 2 months now. :(

Cool, I’ll have to give it a try! How long did you wait between your UGP running out and buying the gold and one month of UGP?

Two days before the release of Halo Infinite’s campaign, the reviews have started to pour in. 87 on Metacritic after 70 reviews.

343 may have really done it.

Is Infinite campaign available for preload? Do I already have it?

I have the multiplayer beta downloaded, and of course it wont allow me to access the campaign through that. The file is approximately 25gb. I got a notification that the campaign was able to be pre-loaded but I cant seem to find anything else to download. Ive also heard the total file (campaign + multiplayer) is 87gb.

So what the hell is happening?

Maybe it's like the multiplayer preload where it was like 200mb or something, probably because they were still working it up until the last minute

I got a predownload of the campaign and it added 28 gigs to the already 25 of multiplayer. However, I heard there’s a bigger day one patch so we shall see.

Halo infinite campaign getting perfect scores left and right. Looks like they were smart to go on that creative director firing spree.

Reviews obviously aren't the be all and end all by any means, but their high scores and descriptions of the game play has me hyped up!

I really wish it was launching with co-op though....the MCC has sort of created a tradition of Halo co-op with my buddy.

Has anyone ran into the problem of the Series X constantly disconnecting from Wi-Fi?

My situation right now doesn't allow me to play wired. Every 15-20 minutes the console will disconnect from Wi-Fi for 10-15 seconds before re-connecting.

The problem started a couple of weeks ago, and a hard power cycle fixed it for a while. Now it's back and worse than ever, so after Googling, I reset the console. It worked all day fine, but now it's back to disconnecting.

I play WiFi all the time no issues.

Are you connecting to 5G? If so are there any obstructions ? Have you tried to connect to 2.4Ghz band?

Since September, I've been using the Wi-Fi no problem. No obstructions that I can think of, and how the connection is set up, there's no visible bands, just the classic one Wi-Fi band.

So anyone have problem with the guide button?

Seems kind of unresponsive alot of the time.

So it's not just me.

Glad it isn't just me.

Damn now I want to get a brand new TV and a series X to go with it lol.. But will probably get head set for now

Gonna get into the Halo infinite campaign tonight then not sure what to tackle first in game pass.... Ori? Fallout 4? DOOM eternal?

The Ori games are great, if you're playing Halo then mixing in another FPS like Doom or Fallout 4 might lead to controller confusion lol
I just beat the first one, it's great I give it a 9/10.

The second one is good but the visuals are a huge step back. It no longer has that water color painting look and a lot of the visuals look like low quality jpegs. There's also no way it's 4k. The spirit tree in the background looks like a Minecraft tree. There's also a ton of super low resolution portions of the screen.

I looked into why and apparently the devs for the switch version individually decreased the resolution of the background to save performance, it seems to have leaked into the next gen versions of the game too.

I'm playing it on the Series S consoles 4k mode so there's a possibility the series X's 4k mode is better. I don think it would fix the jpegs though.

I could not feel more opposite.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps at 4k120 is one of the best looking games I've ever seen. Everything is so crisp and gorgeous.

I'm playing on an XSX on an LG G1 in Dolby Vision at 4k120.

I had that issue a while back when I had Verizon internet, it was pretty unstable, switched over to Comcast and have had no issues since with about 9,000 devices connected at once

I downloaded Will of the Wisps to my PC just to confirm and yes indeed the Series S version is just horrible. All the jpeg assets are gone on PC and even at 1080p the resolution looks much higher than the Series S 4k mode.
