Haley is putting up better numbers than Kreider in Connecticut this year with significantly less minutes. (although he has 20 games on him but still).

Haley has 22 points in 64 AHL games. Kreider has 22 points in 45 games. Where are you seeing better numbers from Haley? There's also the fact that one is 27 and the other is 21...

Pyatt's the whipping boy for April, I think its called.

So here are the season standings:

Whipping Boys:
Feb - Richards/Gaborik
Mar - Boyle
Apr - Pyatt

Always with the whip around here.

I'm not a fan of everyone ganging up on one guy, but don't you think the criticism of Pyatt is justified? He hasn't brought anything to the table for basically two months. I'm not arguing that Haley is better, but do you think it's worth a shot? I do.

As we get better the hate goes to lesser guys. Meaning, they have to whip someone. I think Pyatt deserves criticism, but to the point where every other post he's mentioned, that's overkill, or better term for this place, overboard ;)

Haley was a legitimate big hitter and that is extremely valuable. A big hit can change the momentum of a game just as much as a fight can.

Bring in Haley to change things up, guess he's the only option other than whats up here already.

He was kind of a malcontent in the beginning of the season, no? Not sure what the guys in the locker room think of him. Think they have had enough with the Avery type garbage and want a serious room. Some players have been traded or let go or not resigned cause of the locker room.

We've been ******** on Pyatt even when we were doing poorly.

Play Haley. Orr and McLaren will be especially feisty in a back to back.
What are they going to do that would require a reaction?

When Orr was here, everyone would say he useless, not a deterrent, etc. Now we're making personnel changes to counter him?

pk is 14 for 14 with powe back in the lineup...he is nothing special but he has a value and role on the team.

Maybe i missed it, but no one is advocating for him in over Powe. They are saying he is in for Pyatt.

I want Pyatt gone, but we're winning. I hate coaches that change things when a team is on a roll, unless it's obvious, such as when Dorsett comes back.

Pyatt should have been the real whipping boy after the first month, but the suckage of Gaborik and Richards overshadowed the absolute uselessness of Pyatt. Now that Gaborik has been jettisoned and Richards seems to be reinvigorated, Pyatt is getting his due. He's escaped whipping boy status long enough. He's up there with Jeff Toms, Kevin Stevens, Valeri Kamensky, and Rich Pilon in terms of my most hated Rangers.

IIRC, there was some vague, never-repeated report of him being upset that he was in Connecticut and that he regretted signing with the Rangers. I don't know if it was at all accurate. I don't recall him being labeled a ****-stirrer or bad locker room presence, just a guy that thought he had a bigger role in the organization. Take it for what it's worth.

I don't know. Pyatt sucks, but I don't know if I want Haley AND Asham in the lineup together. On the other hand, the only other options to replace Pyatt are young guys who should be in Hartford, not wasting away on the 4th line here.

Boyle has been a whipping boy EVERY month.

Yeah, honestly, I think Pyatt has been fine in his role since the trades went down. I don't see the point in complaining right now, I think he's OK as a 4th line winger, and we don't really have another realistic option. We have a right handed, more talented version of Haley in the lineup already.

I honestly wonder how Ferriero would look again on the 4th line. He had some speed. May be a good fit with Powe who plays a similar game.

I don't think Torts liked that guy one bit. If you're gonna have a guy playing limited minutes with no faceoff abilities and nothing much to offer you'd better off having the bigger banger in there like Pyatt and hope the puck never touches his stick ;)

no....no hes not....you should see some of Ashams stats in the minors...the guy has a boatload of talent...

Asham has a helluva shot, can fight the heavyweights out there, and, can play.

Asham is a damn good player for us...just wish he wasn't hurt so often.

Asham's not very likely to do well against either Orr or McLaren. Asham is somewhere between a middleweight and a heavyweight--kind of like Prust. Haley is as well. They are very tough players who can fight but neither of them is going to do any better than survive against someone like Colton Orr. Wouldn't have a big problem with Haley playing tonight but if it were up to me I'd probably stick with the same lineup for now.

Exactly. Richards/Gaborik underperforming was a big issue, which demanded attention. Pyatt escaped criticism when they were cold.

Pyatt has been a non-factor. for the majority of the season. I say bring Haley up.

Definitely the next two games Haley should be up playing on that 4th line with Asham and Powe. Especially if their tougher players try to take liberties. Pyatt has been a complete waste the past few months. He barely can control the puck and use his size anymore.

Asham can hold his own against anyone. The dude has balls of iron. Clowe can also hold his own, i just don't like the idea of an Orr for Clowe tradeoff :help:
