I am curious on your thoughts whether we should add a guy like Haley for the two Leaf games or stick with Pyatt ? What do the rest of the guys and gals here think of a swap ? The leafs have the two Frasers and Orr to deal with as well as Phaneuf . I can see AA dropping them if needed and Clowe...but I think after Clowe fought the other night...he lost a lot of steam the rest of the way . I would sooner keep him on the ice and in the game than have Colton Orr suck him in for 5 . Maybe we keep Powe out and leave Pyatt the bigger guy in...but he does not hit half as hard as Powe does .

The Rangers need to be concerned with playing hockey and winning. Not fighting. That just plays right into the hands of the Leafs and will fire their crowd up.

I'd rather have Haley playing than Pyatt anyways. Haley is actually a pretty decent hockey player. He is basically Asham.

I dress the exact same lineup that is 2-0-1 in the last 3 games. With the addition of Clowe and Asham being back the Rangers team toughness is a lot higher than even a week ago. I could be wrong. I like Haley and I think Pyatt sucks but I wouldn't mess with the lineup...just yet...

I didn't get to see Haley when he was up. How was he? We all know he can fight. Can he bring more to the table overall with Pyatt's ice time?

Im willing to pretty much put anyone in the lineup to get rid of Pyatt.

pk is 14 for 14 with powe back in the lineup...he is nothing special but he has a value and role on the team.

God, do we really need a 'Player Discussion' thread on everyone who has a contract with the Rangers?

There are a few better options than Pyatt, I'd say, for Rangers fourth line duty. But, if it ain't broke...

Pyatt is awful. I liked Haley in his brief stint. At this Point Gilroy at forward would be an upgrade over Taylor "Not So Swift" Pyatt

no....no hes not....you should see some of Ashams stats in the minors...the guy has a boatload of talent...

Asham has a helluva shot, can fight the heavyweights out there, and, can play.

Asham is a damn good player for us...just wish he wasn't hurt so often.

Haley is putting up better numbers than Kreider in Connecticut this year with significantly less minutes. (although he has 20 games on him but still).

Yeah this actually crossed my mind, Haley, Bicks, whoever in for Pyatt. Just for insurance's sake.

Haley over Pyatt 10 out of 10 times. I thought Haley was average in his call-up but he brings a lot more to a 4th line than that snowman made of cotton balls in Pyatt.

He is easily the least noticeable, likeable or useful player at the moment on this roster. Seems there is always one however.

Pretty much this....

He was pretty good. Skated well. A bit of a pot-stirrer. I thought he looked decent. He knew what to do with the puck when he had it, hit quite a bit.

Haley is 26. Kreider is 21.

Toronto has two legit big time heavyweights in mclaren and Orr. We don't have the answer for that on roster or in ahl yet. What we have now though is depth and a clicking powerplay which will neuter over aggressive play every time. I love having more grit on roster but let's not lose focus on what our game is. We went from Crokus cloth to 180 grit, tor is 80 grit every day. We have to play our game not theirs.

Haley and asham two of best middleweights in the game but overmatched here big time. Btw pyatt can fight and worked dorsett over pretty good once before, he just avoids that side of things but in playoffs you might be surprised in what he brings. He also skated very hard last game.

I like the idea of getting players like clowe who can play legit minutes and also with sand because they make real impact vice roster adjustments for a limited guy like Orr. Mcilrath will fill such a gaping hole for this team next yr it's not even funny. Our lack of grit on d in front of Hank against a tough team like tor is major concern.

maybe Pyatt gets dealt over the summer and Haley makes the team out of camp. he didnt look out of place when he was called up and he should have stayed the rest of the year...

Pyatt's the whipping boy for April, I think its called.

So here are the season standings:

Whipping Boys:
Feb - Richards/Gaborik
Mar - Boyle
Apr - Pyatt

Always with the whip around here.
