Kinda weird because Del Zotto has 6 points in 10 games right now.

It's also kinda neat how Del Zotto has both been in the NHL for a super long time and isn't that old yet. 720 games played and has been in the NHL since 2009-2010.

Stats lie. He's not very good offensively or defensively.

He's not the Sens worst defenseman but DJ doesn't like him because he's not 6'5 and doesn't cross check enough.

He broke out his rookie year the same year torts was hired, looked electric and almost got traded for stamkos (very interesting story actually, Sather and bolts GM agreed to it at the time but the owner vetod... damn), after that year he lived in chateau bow wow until he was moved for Klein in 2014.

He has been horrible. He cant keep up and is soft in his own end. The signing never made sense. I wonder when Melnyk is going to see all the money Dorion has wasted and realizes he should hire and actual GM instead of paying a scout 125 k to be a GM on an NHL team.

Last week Sens fans were trying to get Debrusk for this guy
What a ridiculous comment. One idiot says something then we group the entire fanbase together. I dont think bruins fans would appreciate that if it went the other way.

UFA signings are usually more miss than hit, particularly for non desirable locations, but this was one of the dumbest ones I've seen.

Bad player. Bad fit that was redundant based on the existing roster. Over paid.

Was a consensus bad signing by most from the start, and still turned out worse than expected.

Insane that he signed MDZ last off season and thought that he and Holden were good enough to bolster our D. Just...wow.

The 2nd year is even more baffling...Like why???We already had depth players like him at LHD ,in Mete,Holden. With Brannstom looking to take a slot

Thats what none of us in ottawa understood either. One year, whatever. Maybe he finds his game, maybe its a depth move. Doesn't matter. The second year is what doesn't make any sense at all

This is baffling to me, not as a reflection on his play, but because I think it was yesterday that Smith was praising him for mentoring the young d-men while also saying how difficult it was to be in and out of the lineup and how MDZ had handled it so well and then, less than 24 hour late, on waivers. With the Sens it often feels like the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

Sounds like DJ was attempting to placate his ego.

DZ is better than some of the D we are regularly dressing, but I also have reason to believe he's not a good mentor.
