Michael Bunting suspended three games

Kerfoot Tavares Nylander
Knies ROR Acciari

Swap Nylander and Acciari, and you get:

Knies ROR Nylander
Kerfoot Tavares Acciari

If some people, including Keefe, want to pretend JT is the 2C, who cares?

3 games seems like 1 too many to me. That said, I’ve been done with Bunting on this team for awhile now. He’s become too much of a distraction and I don’t think his game is improving — to me, he’s way more effective as a 3rd liner that doesn’t cause drama.

The ruling on Bunting’s illegal check to the head is three games, or as we’re told, the equivalent of six regular-season games. Knowing the Department of Player Safety is applying some kind of multiplier in the playoffs, this makes this the most egregious suspendable offense of the entire 2022-23 NHL season so far according to the league.

The NHL has issued 21 suspensions this season, the longest being three games — Nicolas Aube-Kubel’s illegal check to the head on Cal Foote, Jeff Skinner’s high-sticking of Jake Guentzel, and K’Andre Miller’s spitting incident involving Drew Doughty. Bunting’s suspension of three playoff games, therefore, makes this the harshest punishment handed out this year.

The NHL press release is actually..."The NHL is disappointed to announce that due to Nazem Kadri not making the playoffs we cannot suspend him but we would like to announce, NO! We would love to announce, the suspension of Toronto Maple Leaf forward [Insert Name Here] for .. well we don't need logic or a reason and for no reason will we ever suspend a Boston Bruin in the playoffs cause Mr. Jacobs wont allow it and would get seriously mad at Gary if we did".

Honestly 3 games is exactly what I thought he would get because he's a Maple Leaf + Bunting + it was a horrible and completely unnecessary hit.
 
Who were the refs when kadri x 2, and clifford were suspended? I think Bunting deserved it. But I am curious who was reffing those games, and had they called them properly, I wonder if there wouldn't have been any suspensions.
 
Some cheating is needed to win in the playoffs.

If your rat players take out impact players and only sit for 3 games, you won. You won;t get these outcomes unless you own some rats.

So Bunting gets 5min major + game misconduct + 3 games and the Boston dirtbag no PIM and zero games? Sounds about right for this stupid Mickey Mouse league. I'm getting close to never buying NHL merchandise or the Center Ice package again. We know some games are fixed, at least try to make it look like its a sport and not sport theater. If every Leaf fan stopped supporting the NHL I wonder how quickly they would change their crooked ways?

Da NHL with Bettman/Jacobs are a complete joke with DOPS which is why Shanny wanted out .. everyone knows it is a JOKE but when chairman of board and commish decide these issues through a henchman this is what we get .. keep posting all this stuff .. eventually everyone will learn what a JOKE Bettman/Jacobs are .. absolute mockery of NHL game

I'm not even bothered Bunting's out... but it's just disturbing/comical how inconsistent both DOPS, and officiating is. It's bush league. Two nights ago... Mayfield being high sticked for the game winner, and Staal getting elbowed... in what world shouldn't those be penalties at minimum... and I don't care about either team at all... it's just.... bush league.

I get it on Bunting too... he's sold so many penalties, that in some ways he's made the officials look silly at times... but, that's part of the game, and most certainly they shouldn't be looking for opportunities to extract revenge on players.

Going to change my tone regarding Bunting - if Cernak is out the whole series we should build him a statue. Well-deserved suspension, the bolts are there for the picking without Hedman and Cernak.

Parros is a puppet much like Shanny was .. don't get fooled into thinking these guys have any say .. they don't
