He's not going to win it, because Seider is going to win it but just the fact he got nominated shows how great of a signing that was

If he was 21-22 years old he’d probably win.
not this year, Seider would win no matter what
Why? I've heard very few reasons outside of "you need to watch him"
He was the #1 D on a bad team and had a ton of PP points to make his total respectable.
Seider will get it, but not sure he had the best season.
These are Buntings peers for even-strength points

You're looking at a potential PPG rookie season for him with PP1 time like most of the other top rookies.
Here are just rookies

Nah man Seider is going to win this, this is the most predictable Rookie of the year award since Matthews won it
You answered your own question, he came in and is already a #1 D man and not a #1 D in the sense that every team technically has a #1 D, no a REAL #1 D
There hasen't been a close Calder race in a long time. This one might actually be the closest since 2016, Panarin, Ghost, McDavid year. That was the last time the winner was under 90% vote share.
Matthews 2017
Barzal 2018
Pettersson 2019
Makar 2020
Kaprisov 2021
Kaprisov was 1 off of unanimous. In 2017, 3 people voted for Laine.
Well duhthose 3 people were wrong
Da real issue to me is his nomination likely means he is done with us after next season .. he will get 3-4M AAV for sure and bottom line we have to fix our G and D and tender, Lub, Lily and Sandin are all more important to team
I know , he should as a d man on a bad team , just tongue in cheek and hoping , but it’s pretty well setNah man Seider is going to win this, this is the most predictable Rookie of the year award since Matthews won it
With a very bad supporting cast it's actually very difficult for a young player like Seider to come in and be his team's no.1 D. You don't just become a no.1 because your team sucks. This is still the NHL and his minutes were hard.He came in and was a #1D and led his team to an early summer, he was only the #1D on his team due to how bad they are, he is not a top 30 Dman, not sure how I see that as a big bonus for him other than narrative.
Also, pointwise, Liljegren is pretty close at even strength (better PPG), Seider is propped up by running a bad PP that was able to get points, not much else.
