Convenient for him to speak up and play hard now that he wants off this team. He's been the highest paid player on the team the majority of his time here. He's a bigger problem than the majority of the guys he's now complaining about.

How many times have we seen him screw up to then just take his sweet ass time to recover while his linemates are busting their asses to cover for his screw up?

I think the locker room will be much better without him anyway, and the evidence this year speaks for itself when he was out with an injury. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they go on a little winning streak if he is traded before the TDL similar to a bump in energy for a new coach.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, loser.

Total nothing burger quote lol.

I feel like I’ve heard Foligno say some variation of that same quote at least 6 times this season.

Pope “Seth Jones goes completely unfiltered!!!!!”

Jones “we have to play simple hockey. We really didn’t belong in that game”

If Jones weren’t on the block nobody thinks twice about that quote.

I think my issue is when he has played poorly he does not really point they finger at himself but when he scores a goal and has played ok for a few weeks he does point the finger at others.

Ben Pope reports that Jones ripped hiscteanatesxafter the game..He was right to criticize them for beibg no shows...out chanced 40-5 ..But he had fails too..

Pontbis..he has had enough..So has rest of tge team.

Coaching change did Nothing g..
Dispirited bunch who have quit ..not a team..bunch of dysfunctional who are just individually playibg out the season..punching the clock..effort gone.. Even with a talent gap vs. Most NHL teams you still cannot be out chanced 40-5..that defines NO SHOW..esoecialky led by the htoedvone(#98) who has been awful in production lastc4GP (just 1a) and only a total ofv7shog for latv4GP (3 after the break)..1.5,1and Zero shog in these last 4GP ...only 1 a over these ladt 4GP and a -5..

If the coach had any balks he woukd bench Bedard...he needs a good kick I the pants..

Disagree a little.

Don't forget it wasn't long ago he refused to talk to the media period.

Here is a shocking stat:

Takeaways-NHL leaders in TKs 24/25 tobdate:

1.C.Makar 47
2.J.Slavin 42
3.J.Sanderson 42
4.M.Marner 41
5.K. Miller 41
6.A VLASIC 40
7.L. HUTSON 40
8..M.Matheson 37
9.T. Sanheom 36
10.C. Coyle 35

25TH 29

S.JONES 18 takeaways...only !!!!!

Takeaways are not the elite d all or be all...but if you do not getvthe puck back especialky in your own zone ,you are wasting too much time and energy spent in your own zone..or too little time spent in thebo-zone...you are either chasing the puck friutkessly or you are too much tired because defending too long without the puck drains mkre and takea fron your abikity to attack or transition the other way...

Point is Jones is doing Badly this season I take-aways even for him...

.BTW : C.Bedard = ALSO only 18 TKs. Thru 58GP

Last season he had 47 in 68GP

However we must adjust for GP..

Jones 24/25 season 18TK/41 GP = .439TK/G
Jones 23/24 season 40TK /67 GP =
.597 TK /G

Thus Jones is DOWN ( .439/.597= 73.53%) so 100-73.53 = down 26.47% in takeaways per game vs. Last season..

For Bedard:

24/25 = 18TK/58GP = .3193 TK/G
23/24 = 47TK /68GP = .691TK /G

.3193/.691= 44.9% so hev isdown 100-44.9 = a whopping 55.1% in TK/G

So whike Jones being down overc26% from lastcsesdon i TKs /G is bad ,Bedard beibg down overc55% in TK/G is worse....
Put them together on same shifts and you are in big doo doi cause your are nit getting puck back fron the opps very much this season...

Finally we look to where Jones woukd be inTKs if he playexdthe same 58 GP as Vlasic or BEDARD..

IT PROJECTS TO 25 TKs..thus hedoes not make tye top 25 TK leaders (25th guy had 29TKs)..

One woukdcexpectvtop dollar /top minutes Jones to be better into...butcalas no..

You woukdvhopecBedard woukdcemukate Narner for undersized forwards who still getbpuckscfronbtgebopos..but no...
So yes. Allot of extra defensive problems caused by these 2vjey guys not being able to take enough pucks from the opps...

Crystal clear big problems!!!

A few in here worrying about the return on Jones. I honestly don’t care about a “loss” on this trade because it won’t be a real loss.

It’s a win moving out his contract and cutting out his toxic personality from the organization. That’s why I think this gets done before the deadline even if the return isn’t considered great.

Can't wait for Jones to be traded so I don't have to hear the fanbase irrationally complain about him anymore.
We won't really have a whipping boy to whine about. Bertuzzi would be the highest paid Hawk @ 5.5, Brodie has a game hard to like at this point, Kurashev hasn't lived up to the hope/hype of a mirage 54pt season, Reichel hasn't lived up to the 1st round pick expectations, or you can pick a washed overpaid vet. Reality is it will be hard to get to worked up over anyone minus Jones.

I'd give him away for no return at all just to get out of the contract.

That said, given Trouba brought in a return.... Well I've been saying for months the team that trades for him is going to have a meltdown in what they give up for him on these boards. I'd bet on it.

Didn't Friedman say that there the Hawks have no desire to retain? It really seems like this is going to be a summer move rather than a deadline move.

You can "retain" by taking a bad contract bad. I'll be shocked if we don't bring back at the very least another season of bad money and wopuld not be surprised to see someone with several seasons remaining.

Yeah taking Dumba or someone similar is fine, he has another year on the deal.

Seguin is out 4-6 months so he would have to be a summer move.

Also, if they take Severson from Columbus that kinda defeats the purpose.

Severson has a full NMC. Gudbranson has another season @ 4 and a 10 team no trade list.

I would rather trade Jones during this season. If we are able to bring a star in the summer, Jones just might give us another chance to get better.
