17th PP in the WHL and it's showing

...

Lucky at times but still a very good game by Guelph. Sure can beat their goalie though.

Jarry didn't convince me today. Fucale's definitely the better goaltender and prospect.

Bertuzzi's first goal was quite the softy, although it was a good shot.

And he should've stopped Rychel's first too.

It's pretty clear to me that Bibeau's the best backstopper in this tournament.

I didn't watch....but is TVA on site? 'Cause if not, if I'm not mistaken, RDS was on site. Anyway, Leroux is bar none the best and most knowledgeable guy for junior hockey. And it makes no sense that this guy sticks with RDS as they won't have the Mem Cup for quite a while, don't have junior hockey, and won't have the draft soon.

That's like using a formula 1 driver to make him lawn your grass.....

The guys on TVA just are plain bad. Hate the Play by play. And Chainey seems to me as a guy who does a lot of reading...but don't know his stuff by himself. Yes.....ex-scout, I know. Yet, he's not doing that anymore. And unfortunately in Montreal, most of our journalists go with the easy route.....I'm just sure that we'd take the most prospects lovers in here, and together, we'd have watch way more games involving prospects in a month, than most journalists in a year....

Guelph will win this tournament, they're easily the class of the group. Edmonton is probably the 2nd best team, in fact I'm pretty sure they are but they ran into a better team today.

Well....at first, I thought that Val D'Or had no chance at even winning 1 game. That's done. Thank god to miraculous Bibeau. But if Val D'Or get their act together....they might surprise. I mean, yes, Guelph looks great offensively. But nobody will say that their goalie is a good one. If Mantha has some space, he will score on him on every shot. But then...will he have some space.....I wouldn't count out London. I was dissapointing in Jarry today. Immensely. I think it's not as clear cut. We'll see how that develops.

I don't think the guy loses his skills by being becoming an analyst on a full-time basis, he still watches and attends a lot of minor league games. He was more than just a scout, he played, he coached and spent almost 20 years as a scout for the Ducks, contributing to a Stanley Cup win. He seems quite articulate. He may not be a fast-talker like Leroux, however, he has more hands-on experience than Leroux, allowing a different perspective. I like Leroux's contributions however, Chainey is credible in his own right.

It's one thing to have been there....it's another to know what's out there at this present moment. The guy is there right now not on his past accomplishments, but on his analysis of present prospects. And I don't hear a whole lot of new stuff that I didn't read anywhere else from him. Anyway, I guess it's just a matter of opinions.

Guelph averages free chicken wings every game, they're a load on the ice. They have explosiveness from 3 lines and all their defensive pairings. However, I do agree that Nichols isn't the best but that's mostly because he's so small. He's played well enough to show that he can win this tournament with this team.

At the end of the day it will come down to a single elimination game and anythign can happen in that scenario but I just have a hard time not seeing Guelph at least in the final.

TVA's not on site, they have Lalancette and André-Anne Barbeau there but not the analysts/play-by-play.

Chainey's certainly not the best colour guy, but I like his insight on players since he's a past scout. They just hired Steve Finn to replace him and will keep Chainey for intermissions. I personally like Goulet (play-by-play).

But yeah it really sucks, because TVASports was heading the good way the past few years, showing so many 'Q games, actually showing up in further cities for the finals. Hopefully they don't let the junior games aside, but I think it's inevitable, the ratings are not very good in terms of viewership. They will keep showing games, but it will rarely be on their main channel and won't be much advertised:(

Chainey might not re-invent the wheel but I agree with most of what he says, so I like him :P

Still think Guelph is #1 but the other 3 are pretty close to one another. Guelph can definately be beaten though in this tournament on a given night.

Guelph is like the 90s/early 2000s Detroit teams. Lots of offense and good defense, but no goaltending.

McCarrons usage had been terrible, every time he is out there he makes something happen but he still gets ****** icetime.

Nichols isn't the cream of the crop, but to say he's not a good goalie is misleading.

True.. yet still miles better than Jarry.

I was incredibly dissapointed by Jarry yesterday. I guess it,s all about expectations.....but Jarry was bad and he was a high pick. While I don,t believe nobody will pick Nichols this upcoming draft.

Nah, Nichols won't get picked (I don't think).

He'll likely be signed after another year in the OHL. Next year's performance will determine whether he may get an AHL deal or NHL deal though.

He's going to have to prove himself in the AHL, for years, before he ever gets a sniff anywhere near the NHL.

Almost every shift McCarron plays something good happens. Can't really ask for much more with the little icetime he gets.

First shift, big scoring chance. Then, I think it took 7 minutes for his next shift. It makes no sense. And it's not like London is scoring 10 goals per minute here....
