Unfortunate weather this year. My step son went Thursday and left my house about 30 minutes away from the track was on the ground in less then 2 hours

You've made a couple references to VA cities, presumably based on Danville. I don't disagree that Danvillle is pretty shabby, but it can't be representative of VA in general, can it? What are Richmond and Roanoke like?

Roanoke isn't terrible, Richmond is awful.

I know sports isn't everything but as a starting point NC has 3 pro teams (not counting soccer) and Va has zero cities that could support a pro team.

While I may not be the most worldly person I have lived as an adult in California and VA. Spent time in Florida and Tennessee. I also loved in Ohio and NC as a kid.

Va is at the very bottom of the list in absolutely every way I could rate a place to live other then cost of living.

was going to say, spent a decent amount of time in the Roanoke/Salem area - if it weren't for the fact that there's no pro sports that interest me that are a reasonable drive from there I'd live there in a second.
