yeah they're f***ing awful. Had them when I lived in Durham and would flat out not recommend at all. Frankly the lawn looked worse after a year of their treatment than it did before and then they tried to hit me for like $500 in bogus charges long after I cancelled service. So anyone looking for a lawn care service: look elsewhere.

You're thinking of 9v batteries where the contacts are side by side to plug in. These were AA batteries where the contacts are on opposite sides, and in order to gauge the power level, you had to squeeze the ends of the battery to get the built in gauge to detect the power, but you REALLY had to squeeze for a long damn time to get it to work... thus destroying your thumb and forefinger in the process.

Ok Gene Simmons, most of us can only do that to 9v's
