Meier Knee Necas

Dude, legs arent supposed to bend that way - look at the still image. He somehow miraculously did not have ligament damage, but to deny the fact that he was in severe pain (and likely thought that his season was done, if only for a few moments) is just being willingly obtuse. So he was fine a few minutes later - great. Take the issue with the refs and the league, not the guy who had his leg rotated ~75° in the wrong direction. Maybe the refs screwed you out of a couple points - they screw everything up for everyone. It is not a unique experience. Colin Campbell is still in charge. It will continue to suck ad infinitum.

The point still stands he played that he was on the ice for 70% of the 5 min PP. You’re in denial if you don’t think he put salt and pepper on that performance.

There literally is a rule in the rulebook about embellishments. You think the NHL would have that rule if it never happened ? You are being very naive.

I really don’t understand why seemingly all of this board thinks that if a player returns to a game after showing significant pain that they were a faker.

How many times have you seen a player get attended to on the ice after blocking a shot but return to the game later on? It happens many, many times every season. Are they all faking too?

Regardless of what you all feel about the intentions of the hit and the resulting penalty, it’s so f***ing ignorant to just call the guy a “coward” because he returned after taking knee on knee contact. Like use your brains. You don’t think a play like that would cause significant pain?

Maybe it’s time for you all to get off your couches and do something physical yourselves.

 We’re still talking about this?

Apparently there are several people who really wanted Necas to be seriously injured on that play, so strongly that they’re still mad about it 2 days later.

Also remember that this call cost them the game, not the 4 consecutive goals they allowed in the third period — none of which Necas had anything to do with.

This entire thread is so weird, if it was Jack Hughes that took that hit we'd be just as pissed as Cane fans were, we'd also be ecstatic that he wasn't seriously hurt and danced around for 3.5 minutes of the power play.
This is a non issue anymore and shouldn't still be an argument.

And Canes fans would be equally pissed that he came back after it looked like his season was over + came back and was doing that then proceed to call him a diver. What's your point? Also that same move has happened to Jack Hughes before, remember Wahlstrom kneed him a few years back and he missed time from it?

They literally scored the game winner on the said major, holy f***.

When Hughes was actually hurt on a knee by Wahlstrom he stayed down less than Necas lol

Actually, very similar play. Hughes tried to avoid the hit and put himself in a much worse position. And guess what the call was on this play? Absolutely nothing… lol

Between this and the Hall knee from 2017-2018, it's pointless. I've brought it up multiple times on this thread and it gets ignored every single time by Canes fans lol

For shits I took a quick skim through the thread from the hit at the time and the overwhelming consensus was “nothing hit, good no call”. Man, I love this site sometimes lol.

And for something actually somewhat germane to the thread, here’s Tim Stutzle diving/embellishing/laying on the ice to draw a kneeing penalty before playing on the ensuing power play (a la Necas):

Yeah, his leg flies magically sideways through the power of telekinesis.

Pathetic attempt, even for you. :biglaugh:

Just like Meier, Suzuki missed his hit.

I’m glad you posted this because it’s a similar situation of a guy trying to lay a player out and missing.

The fact that you’re still taking the time to beat your tired drum days later is impressive.

A true masterclass in self-distraction to avoid absorbing basic points of logic that don’t fit your agenda of victimization.

That’s a classic “dead leg” scenario. Now I’m convinced you really have never played the game. It’s the exact the type of contact that would cause a very intense, and very brief, dull pain.

it’s a great example of the exact fallacy driving your mindset. If a player doesn’t miss a shift or soon returns, any sort of brief expression of pain in the moment was a fake to get a penalty.

I’m sure you’ve been so thoroughly inured to Stutzle’s play acting at this point five years into his career, but that reputation has been more than well earned. No need to fight it at this point, we all know what he is.

Actually, this goes quite long way to your two day binge in this thread as a complete third party. Is defending Necas actually you trying to defend Stutzle by proxy?:biglaugh:

I have eyes and a brain and that’s all it takes to evaluate these situations objectively.

Now let’s hear more about how Hughes is a victim of knee on knee hits.

“Objectively” lol

Your entire position on the Necas hit would exactly make Hughes a victim of a knee on knee hit- after all, it’s the responsibility of the hitter no matter what, right? I mean, that’s what you’ve been vomiting ad nauseam about Meier.

Hey, let’s see the footage.

There’s nothing preventing Jack Hughes from being both a victim and a perpetrator of a knee on knee hit.

Unlike Meier, in the Fabbri hit, Hughes got off with a minor penalty while his victim left the game and missed a week and two games from the impact.

Edit: I can’t view your video for some reason.

Sounds like a whole lot of words to avoid acknowledging the hit by Wahlstrom was exactly the same with both a wildly different outcome in severity (injury for months) and officiating (no penalty).

If Meier got a minor penalty, literally no one cares.

Thanks for playing.

You’re just inferring certainty when it does not exist.

Yes, Tim Stutzle has a reputation of diving. Doesn’t mean he is incapable of feeling and expressing pain from any hard contact. Yes, he got back up after initially staying down after contact. Does not mean he was faking.

And really though…this was a two minute penalty for tripping. Stutzle’s reaction (what little there was given the play) doesn’t seem to have played any part in the call. It was the appropriate call based on the play.

Edit: accidentally wrote “diving” instead of tripping
