Necas was down like his season was over. Once they went back and gave a major and a game he came running back and didn’t miss a shift… bs
Because it's impossible for something to hurt so much that you think you're injured but after a moment or two you realize you're not. This has never happened to anyone ever in the history of human existence.

Which is 100% if it were the linesman caught it and asked it's also allowed on high sticks but they aren't allowed to blow the play dead
Except it shouldn’t be a major whatsoever. A minor at most but even that’s arguable. Meier has him lined up for a clean hit and does stick his leg out or change his angle at all. The knee on knee contact was caused by Necas.

Devils probably didn't deserve to win the game, because Carolina was the better team. Yet the score was 2-2 with under 10mins to go, and it was a winnable game. That call changed everything.

I really don’t understand why seemingly all of this board thinks that if a player returns to a game after showing significant pain that they were a faker.

How many times have you seen a player get attended to on the ice after blocking a shot but return to the game later on? It happens many, many times every season. Are they all faking too?

Regardless of what you all feel about the intentions of the hit and the resulting penalty, it’s so f***ing ignorant to just call the guy a “coward” because he returned after taking knee on knee contact. Like use your brains. You don’t think a play like that would cause significant pain?

Maybe it’s time for you all to get off your couches and do something physical yourselves.

If you watch that hit, see how Necas knee bends and then say it was a dive or a sell I can assure you that you have never taken a shot like that in your life. Yku don’t immediately know you’re ok when you get hit like that.

So what is Meier supposed to do there?
Not hit him knee on knee. Lead with his upper body.

I think it was a questionable hit with an unfortunate result, but I don't think it was worth a major. Maybe a minor at most.

But then the refs called a minor against Haula's headshot that definitely should have been a major, so it all evens out

He does. And if Necas doesn't move at the last second the first contact would've been Meier's shoulder. It is a knee on knee but there's not much Timo could've done to avoid it. Absolutely not a major penalty given how it occurred. A minor, sure whatever.

It was about 20 seconds after the major was called that he came running (!) back to ensure he could start the next shift. The whole timing was weird

Funny how they went back to call it a major but were fine with it live. If you're going to scrutinize hits like they do offside goals now then have fun. Timo also led with his shoulder first before Necas thought he'd do some Spiderman shit to get out of the way
