To me its quite easily Finland. In fact I actually think the Finns have not played as terribly as their results indicate. If they manage to get their offense going, I think they're capable of beating any team in the tournament. Might be in the minority here, but I thought Canada's toughest game so far was against the Finns. US game was very close for sure, but I thought Finns gave Canada way more of a scare and the 4-1 score was just misleading.

Rarely easy draw leads to easy overall win, Canara will have thought time at finals for sure. One they meet there has battled thru their way and has advantage for having a better edge at the start.. however it wont change that much, at the end home attendance with help (huge factor) and refs will seal it up. You heard it first time here ;) ..lots of complaining about refs incoming next three days.

I hope Swedes will have mercy on us and wont beat us with basketball numbers. Eventhough we are the world champs I wouldn't be over confident about this.
 
Remember what happened to Canada the last 3 years after they beat USA in the preliminary round?
 
The USA Russia game should be intense. I hope the Russians come out playing a solid game, then it could be interesting. If they play like they did against the Czechs, the USA should not have much of a hard time. But we'll see.

From what I saw, Russians didn't play badly against Czechs. Czechs played a brave game, bringing the fire, BIGTIME...& might have beaten ANY team in this tourney, that night. Think Czechs have discovered their game, think they'll cruise past SVK. Canada will be a much tougher opponent, however. Assuming, of course, everything goes according to Hoyle...
 
Looking at the games I can't help but get excited for RUS/USA and FIN/SWE. Have a feeling they both disapoint - with Sweden and USA making easy work though.

Here's hoping they don't.

The Czechs played very well, with a lot of heart. They were also very good strategically and defensively. I didn't see brilliance in their game, and I think you need some of that to win this tournament. Personally, I think Russia wasn't playing at their best in that game. But we'll see how both teams will do as the tournament progresses.
 
I expect Canada to fully put the boots to Denmark. Canada has won something like 180+ games at this tournament and Denmark, just one. If the Danes were to beat Canada, we're talking an upset of MONUMENTAL proportions.

Said 7-1 before, but I change it to 9-1 Canada. Denmark's top line will likely get shut out by DDR line and Sorensen could only save so much. Being under 6 ft, Sorensen will have problems getting to cross ice passes. 50+ shots for Canada, 4 points for McDavid, DDR line will combine for 11 points.
