Nicholls on this list will never not be bizarre

Honestly I almost find Esposito and Yzerman to be a bit bizarre, but one played with Orr and the other in the 80s so it makes sense. Yzerman is the most impressive of the three because Nicholls played with Gretzky of course. That said, McDavid's season right now >> Yzerman's even if he doesn't score another point.

Esposito
Gretzky
Lemieux
Nicholls
Yzerman
McDavid
The insane part is that Gretzky did it 9 times and Lemieux 4 times. Everyone else just once, and one of those guys played on a line with Gretz.

Wayne also had 149 and 142 point seasons as well, both of those seasons he missed 16 and 7 games, respectively.

151 points on his 64th goal and second of the game. o_O

McDavid will have at most two more chances to 1) pass the active player marks for goals (65) and assists (87) and 2) pass Yzerman for the highest non-66/99 season in history, but as many posters have learned this year, you should never bet against him.

151 points with two games to spare in this day and age. Doing things that most don’t believe possible. All part of the reason that he will shatter the Big Four and remold it into a new Big Five where he’ll likely have a compelling case when stacked up against anyone other than Gretzky.

Congrats to McDavid for doing the work and much less congrats to the few of us who thought he could do it, especially before the season started.

And just like that, he jumped from a tie with LaFontaine for 19th most points in a season to sole possession of 16th, passing Jagr, Gretzky, and Nicholls in the process.

13 out of the 15 seasons ahead of him are owned by Gretzky and Lemieux. Passing Yzerman is still possible if he plays both games, which is also still in play with the division title still up for grabs. At least Esposito seems likely.

Needs 6pts in 2 games to have the highest total outside of Lemieux and Gretzky. I wanted to see him do it so badly. Too bad he slowed down over the past few games. Would have been a lock otherwise.

Also only need two goals to break Ovie’s record.

66 goals and 156 points to end the season would be awesome.

Nah and he won't sniff 150pts. Isn't it this the third time he has a crazy pace to start the season and people start 150pts thread?

His ceiling is 130-135 and that's as many as a player can get in the modern era. No one touches 150.
Y'all ever asked yourself; What would I tell my past self if I could meet with him?
