McDavid heating up, what are odds on 150 points this season?

Never gets old. Despite all the trolls like you trying to come after me I will say this. Mcdavid had one point tonight and honestly did not look good at all. Let’s see how many points he gets now being back on a line with JP, and actually being forced to play defense.

We will see who is laughing when his production screams to a halt because he has to drive his own line and not just coast

Exactly what I’ve been saying yet the Oilers fans are all hoo haing because they won a game

Whatever kid. We know you have terrible takes.

Let’s just all take a moment to laugh at this post.

Mcdavid will produce no matter who his line mates are. And Puljujarvi is actually solid defensively.

Again, let’s all take a moment to laugh at this post.

Last year McDavid only went 30 points in 27 gp from mid December through the end of February so he should absolutely decimate that pace and widen his gap over the next couple months.

The beauty is that he could repeat that same production from this point going forward and then match his final 21 games of last season where he had 38 points and still end up with up with 133 points. I think that’s our bottom of what to expect the rest of the way.

Even with that cold spell you mentioned, he still has 135 points over his past 82 regular season games. Pretty remarkable that he has averaged 1.646 PPG during a stretch where he had 15 points in 17 games as a part of that 30 in 27 games you brought up.

I still say he needs a couple of 5-6 point games to help protect himself from falling off the 150 point pace. He does have seven four point games through 34 games played though.

He has more 4 point games than 0 point games this year

That won’t happen, this happens every year where he tears it up at the beginning but D will tighten up and not allow him any space. He will still be point per game but won’t come close to 150

And to everyone else coming after me I don’t care, not going to respond to everyone individually. Fact is Mcdavid will slow down and I will come back for the last laugh. Book this now

I’ve extensively posted his production throughout the course of his career. I go in and pull out the numbers myself. You just make vague statements, bold exclamations, and then disappear when it’s not going your way.

The last time I remember us quoting each other, while you were thumping your chest about McDavid getting only 4 points in a 5 game stretch, I mentioned how he was likely going to get hot starting with his next game that was hours away. He has a point in 14 straight since then (30 points). You were nowhere to be found in this thread.

We’re 7 games away from it being the entire first half. When are you going to take notice that he’s past the point of just “tearing it up at the beginning”, considering he has monstrous opening and closing 20-25 game stretches? Would you seriously cross your arms and scowl if he didn’t hit 150, but crossed 140?

I’ll take a guess. If 105 in 56 didn’t do it for you, when paired with his career, and now what he’s doing, I’d say never.

He has more 4 point games than 0 point games this year

7 to 4 for those wondering.

One of these years there will be a real team around him and they will get 60 wins in the regular season

He has a sorta Michael Jordan progression. Getting to his offensive peak in his 6-7th year, surrounded by a mediocre team, dominating the league, dominating even the playoffs, but without winning anything.

The big problems are, Holland is no Krause and hockey needs much more roster bolstering than Bball to get to the top.

Anyway, if they could get competent management, he'd probably win some cups.

Good god, he has a family!

It's clearly an ironic drama account made to get clicks and keep other forum members engaged.

Not sure why people keep bothering with it.
Cause sometimes it's fun to engage with accounts that have zero credibility. You get to make fun of them but not get an infraction.
I used to do it in the past.

What's the current record for embarrassing comments/60?

You'd have to ask Leafs fans

It goes further than that, he's been averaging close to 137/82 since the start of the 19-20 season.

Meh. Been around here for 8 years now I think.. maybe longer? I make a lot of controversial statements and usually am right… if you want to engage go ahead if you don’t it doesn’t make a difference to me. People on here make bad guesses all the time and I correct them

Here's the likelihood of McDavid reaching 150 points (assuming he plays all 82 games), updated after each game:

1671745232121.png

"0" is the probability before the start of the season (around 7%). The low point was in late October, when McDavid "only" had 11 points in 7 games. The high point was mid December, when McDavid had 59 points in 30 games.

My model gives him virtually 100% chance of reaching 120, 95% chance of reaching 130, 69% chance of reaching 140, and a 4% chance of reaching 160.

For those curious about goals specifically - McDavid has a 92% chance of scoring 50 goals and a 29% chance of scoring 60 goals.

I've never seen anyone so insecure over a hockey player before, yikes!

It's ok man, Matthews is still a great player.

Awesome, and thanks for this
