Eklund Rumor: McDavid for 1st overall and Knies

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
The Troll Stomper or whatever the f*** its called would be working o.t. that day. thankfully though its Eklund so its just trash.

It’s going to take a lot more than just Knies and the 1OA pick to get this done. Only a few teams like the Ducks, Sharks and Sabres have what’s needed (elite youth) to make such a huge deal.

He has a full no movement and if he doesn't want to be there he's choosing where he goes

Yes, and I don't think Toronto makes the cut. I don't think they're even close to being in the running.
Neither do I, but McDavid maybe has a grade 7 education. If he was smart he'd have left Edmonton instead of signing for 2 years in his prime to play a "wait and see" game when they didn't and don't have a goalie.

I see, the guy who thinks the game at the highest speed is a moron. Roger.

On a serious note,

I also don't see the Oilers dealing within the division, so an eastern team willing to cough up big assets and one he is willing to waive for. That doesn't qualify Toronto either.

His on ice play has nothing to do with him sticking around and waiting for a goalie or right winger to fall out of the sky, magically.

Again, I don't know why it has to be said, but McDavid will choose where he goes, Brady Tkachuk just did it and he's not 1/3 the player McDavid is. "I don't see the Oilers" yeah, because it's not them making the choice...

I don't think the 1st overall this year hold that much value to get McDavid
Prospect Hype wise Gavin has been up there with Bedard and well ahead of other top picks like Celebrini, Slafkovski, Schaefer

When you look at the cost for Brady Tkachuk and cost of Quinn Hughes I think McDavid is worth considerably more than Knies and 1st overall.

Not sure which team is the best fit to add McDavid, but I think the Oilers will get a crazy haul if they move him

He'd have to have a grade 7 concussion if he wanted to go to Toronto to win
He spends his winter in -50 just so the team can put Drai on his wing and let the rest of the team know that nobody has to step their shit up to play with the 2 best centers on the planet when they need a goal because they'll just play them with each other.

You guys keep saying he's not f***ing stupid and wouldn't go to Toronto, yet he's still in Edmonton. Proving he is f***ing stupid enough to do something stupid with the rest of his career.

Why do you people keep forgetting he has a NMC and will choose where he goes?

Yes, of course he does. Like Larkin and other players who ask for a trade the original team usually requests a list of potential teams they'd waive for.

I am sure the Oilers would do so in the event McDavid requests a trade.

So like Larkin, Tkachuk, etc I'd expect a 3-5 team list. Then the Oilers get to work.

Yes last year he was touted as a generational but this year he didn't show he was in that tier, Slaf also never was in that tier.

This doesn't even make any sense at all as a made up rumour. McDavid would return far more than this, Edmonton would be taking salary back, and more depth would probably be coming to Toronto.

Lindros was a rookie with 10+ years ahead of him with his new team and was considered the greatest NHL prospect not named Gretzky or Lemieux.

McDavid will be turning 30 earning $12.5M and almost certainly a raise on his next deal - Big part of all this of course is if it would be a sign & trade.

In other words, not anything close to the Lindros deal but much more like Quinn Hughes deal return with a better roster player than Rossi and/or prospect than Buium.
And yet Brady just got 3 1sts and a 2nd with 2 years remaining on his deal. I don't think anyone's worried about McDavid's age when there is probably no point in his remaining years where Brady will be better than him.

McDavid would certainly return more than Hughes which was essentially 4 1st round picks.

Guy won scholastic player of the year twice in the OHL, but only has a grade 7 education? Lmao.
