I could have misread the subtext but it seemed obvious to me he was expressing a desire to watch EDM fans parse their reaction to watching McDavid get elbowed in the face deliberately with how they react to McDavid throwing the elbow. I don't think he was wishing injury on McDavid.

Wild fans didn’t think that Hartman’s cheap shot on Bouchard last game or his slew foot on Draisaitl last night was a big deal. Live by the cheap shot, get concussed by the cheap shot. As an Oiler, even though I don't think it was intentionally done, I do think that intention isn't everything. McDavid should have got a fine. It wasn't egregious enough to be suspendable though. It sucks that Johansson appears to be injured, but if that contact could do it, a totally legitimate hit would have too

The play where Draisaitl was already falling forward and was taken down by Hartman's skate moving six inches towards the puck between Leon's skates? Yeah, I'm shocked he hasn't gotten suspended for that clear intent to injure
