His dominance is established, now people will take pleasure in asterisking him because he doesn't have a cup at 27 when Sid had one at 21 or whatever it was.

Hopefully he gets one, skill-wise he's on track to be a Top 5 Player all time and a cup clinches it assuming he plays out a normal career from this point (at least 10 more years.)

I think it's becoming more and more obvious he's the best player since Mario and since many people regard Mario as the 2nd best ever ... welp it makes no.3 pretty easy.

4th maybe. McJesus is insane, but not quite as dominant as Gretzky, Lemieux and Orr.

I love ya Bobby Orr, but McDavid would score so many points in that era the score board would malfunction. It's just such a different era it almost can't be compared.
