I wouldn’t put much into these guys lol BUT

Screw it - why should Connor participate in this dumb little tourney that the NHL gets to line its pockets with?

League doesn’t care about his safety just like they didn’t care about Sids - and he nearly lost his career because of it.

Because the league will go on with or without McDavid. McDavid needs the league far more than they need him. The NHL would happily push Matthews, an American superstar playing in the largest market in the league.

3 games for that is an absolute f***ing joke. The NHL never fails to make the most obvious blunders. That should be 1 game max. And what are the consequences for the refs that butchered that whole situation? Let me guess: nothing?

I have spent money on tickets 3 x in the past 3 seasons, and all 3 times were to see McDavid play (once in Seattle and twice in Vancouver). I did not spend my money on Saturday to watch the game be 1 goal away from OT and have the best player in history pinned down illegally when the game is on the line.

It's unimaginable in a different sport (because they are run by smart people who understand their product). Imagine Lebron has the ball on the final possession down by a basket, then some defender pulls him down to the court and wrestles with him while the ref sits there watching, then when LeBron gets up and shoves the guy he gets suspended for 3 games. It's unimaginable stupidity on the NHL's part.

All this tells me is that McD is the main character and Stone Cold Steve Austin of the NHL, Bettman is Mr. McMahon, and the refs are his stooges.

As a minimum, he should skip the Four Nations, which you can't even call "Best on Best" anyway without Russia and the Czechs.

I don't care how crazy this sounds, I'm starting to think that Bettman wants to drive McDavid out of Edmonton to a market Bettman prefers...

What facts? He's not the most followed on social media, isn't top 3 in sold jerseys, doesn't receive the most exposure...

Again, he's the MOST SKILLED AND TOP PLAYER in the NHL. Not it's face. And i don't dislike the guy, he's just boring.

Is that really the equivalency? And it sounds like you want 97 to be pampered and coddled the same way LeBron is.

You're right. Garland should have been courteous to Mcdavid, rolled out the red carpet and not played defence instead, and got out of the way so the Oilers could tie the game. It's crazy how winning 4 draft lotteries despite being a trainwreck tier 2 organization for a decade can turn some members of a fanbase into petulant entitled crybabies

Garland can do whatever the f*** he wants, but when it's obviously a penalty... the referee's job (notice how I called them out and not Garland?), is to call the obvious infraction. Next time try reading or just being a bit sharper in general.

That's cool, but Tampa won two cups and Kuchy still didn't win the Smythe. McDavid won the Smythe when his team didn't even win...and became the first skater in almost 50 years to do that. That seems a little cooler than winning the same trophy as Jamie Benn. Oh, and I love how you have to restrict it to 6 years because McDavid has basically been the best or second-best player in the league since his first full season.

Game management goes both ways, they did not call the obvious interference by bouchard seconds beforehand so they had to let that go. You and several others should stop whining that the Oilers don't get preferential treatment

seeing garland clutching onto mcdavid to prevent him from playing bout makes me vomit , that would NEVER in a million years cross my mind to do . punks do that . but the same lying cheating punks that run the kingdom run the nhl so clown acts like this continue happen cuz nhl brass see nothing wrong with cheating . ide luv to see mcd walk away to the shl
