Connor should already have been suspended at least 3-5 times before so Edmonton fans should consider themselves lucky thus far that he has received the "free out of jail" treatment from the league time after time!

Garland should have been called for a penalty yes. But Oiler fans are conveniently ignoring Bouchard holding Petey in the Oilers zone. If you want the refs to call penalties then that should have also been called long before this happened.

Refs don’t make the call on 3 penalties Garland commits on McDavid in the lead up to that.

Call the penalty there and all that gets avoided at the end.

The Myers cross check was pretty bad there as well.

But it should have been offsetting penalties. McDavid was wrestling back.

Instead of seeing if the best player in the league could help tie the game in the final seconds, I got to watch him get pinned to the ice and blatantly interfered with. Great product NHL. I am sure when Mahomes is driving down the field to tie the game the NFL would let someone sit on him and prevent him from getting up

In hockey, you need every component of a team to win. Garland did what he had to do. McDavid failed to do what he had to do. Simple as.

My point was that people can say a million different things about incidents and at the end of the day it will be up to the morons at the DOPS to decide what happens for an incident that would've never happened had the refs done their jobs. I agree that crosschecking someone to the head/face is wrong but sometimes people lose their shit and this is tame compared to what Soucy and Zadorov did to McDavid last season.

By not calling McDavid for interference after he coughed the puck up. Started the whole sequence.
