Yes, we should give Ducharme and Bergevin lots and lots of credit.
Just goes to show that the Girls saying size maters where RIGHT all along size trumps skill every time

They do deserve a lot of credit for playing they way they did, defensively. We were pretty much neutralized in the last 3 games. Even the goals that came, came off deflections and were pretty much lucky bounces. Price didn't struggle for any of those!

and both MTL's OT wins were on fluke plays, a blind giveaway, and a defection. ...then game 7 begins with non calls on bulldog tackle plays, and sleazy call on a mild grab... and game over, series over.
If the Leafs put in a decent effort, they win, but, they didnt, and thats on the coach.
Price won the series, the leafs are not built for playoff hockey, have not won a series for almost 2 decades, the most successful team in canada the last number of recent years are the habs, they were near the top of the regular season standings for a while, but playoffs matter the most. They suck. Wait til they have to play Vegas or Colorado.
The Leafs beat themselves like usual.
Give them credit? Hell no. Matthews and Marner choked big time. 1 f***ing goal was all we needed from them in games 5, 6 and possibly 7 and they couldn't even f***ing come up with that. Completely unwilling to do what it takes to advance in the playoffs.
took Simmonds over Perry and his garbage goals, for more money also.Only 4 players carrying this team + Perry's garbage goals.

They play hard and don't short their fans on effort but at the end of the day they're a crap team that's going to get completely run out of the rink against Colorado or Vegas. Why is it so difficult to give them credit, they 100% deserve it. The Habs were directly responsible for the Leafs to choke (i.e. prevented the Leafs from winning).
Anything outside of that is just an excuse.
sure it was Simmonds and not Thornton they picked over Perry?took Simmonds over Perry and his garbage goals, for more money also.

It's completely inexcusable that the Leafs lost to them.
There is no credit to be given to Montreal. Toronto simply beat themselves. Montreal has no business being where they are. It also doesnt hurt that Montreal didnt have to face arguably both Toronto and Montreal's best two-way players at the center position in JT and Schieffle.
If JT was present in the Montreal series the Leafs win that series easily. If Schieffle is in the lineup the past 3 games there is not doubt Montreal would be up by a 3-0 margin.
Sorry as a Leaf fan I cannot and will not ever give credit to a Montreal team that plays the trap system and relies heavily on their lone star Price. Its how teams like New Jersey in the past won cups. Only thing is NJ had a much better balanced team.
Montreal is playing way over their heads and it will become evident in the next round when Colorado or Vegas make it a simple series against a team that has no business being there.
Toronto and Winnipeg are superior teams to Montreal and would have made a series against Colorado or Vegas. Montreal has luck on their side thats the only credit I will give them. Other then that they are a very bad team.

Pretty much this. But granted I didn't expect them to potentially sweep the Jets. They suck. Wait til they have to play Vegas or Colorado.

I think this is a really good point. Habs have gotten lucky with opposing team injuries or suspensions. Where would they be right now Tavares had played, or if Danault was out of their lineup?Played Leafs without the 25th scorer in the league/captain and then without Muzz.
Montreal did not outshoot us once the entire series.
Playing Winnipeg originally missing their 2nd centre and eventually 1 and 2.
Montreal is not that good.
The IIHF showed what happens in a small sample size. A good goalie and a team approach can cause upsets.

they dont come close to having a better team.
All it says is that the jets and leafs aren't as good as most people thought.
