Maybe we should give the Habs some credit.

  • We're expeting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
i said mid season the recipe to beating the leafs is pressure everyone all over the ice and clog the slot and it seems to also work vs the Jets too.
We never made any adjustment all season to that, and Ott/Cal/Mtl all used it effectively vs us, though, our PP didnt suck yet, so, we kept winning.

It wont work vs Vegas, but, it might vs Col, though their PP is lights out, so, shouldnt matter.

Hate the habs but unfortunately it looks like they are representing the honor of the North Division. I won't hate it if they swept the next round. I will hate it if they they won it all though.

Any team experiencing playoff success requires / demands credit or respect. The true test will come once they get out of the North.
That and what happens next season. Without COVID they weren’t a playoff team in 2019-20 and very possibly not this season either with a normal divisional alignment, and then they never have these opportunities to begin with. If they struggle next regular season as well then I will think it was kind of a fluke. But it still reflects no better on us; Once given the opportunity, they got it done, we didn’t.

I give them credit for working hard and making the most of what they have, that said, Winnipeg is just downright awful and has been for some time, not just the bad run to end the season but Hellebuck has masked their problems for years. If Helly doesn't steal the game for them they don't win - like ever.

I'm a Leafs fan. I do not give MTL credit.

They are built from the net out. Many laughed at their top 4 dmen. Well they are not laughing now. Many laughed at Suzuki, Kotkiniemi (sp), Cole, Gallagher, Anderson. Well they ain't laughing now. Many laughed at Bergevin. Well they ain't laughing now.

I remember when they traded for Staal and I jokingly posted. "Check. Your move Kyle", and was raked. Well it was check mate in 7 Kyle. LOL.

This is some 12 step recovery **** to eventually get over it so you can be happy again next season. I don't totally hate it because it's harmless. Just know, what you're doing is tricking yourself.

Their system is working and the guys have really come together as a team, but let's be real. This is an 18th place team that is largely devoid of any high end talent

Leafs should have beat them, no excuses
I think what many forget is the team that the Leafs played in the playoffs was not the same team that finished 18th overall nor was it the same team that they played on May 3rd, 5th and 6th to end the season. The 11 day break Habs had for their covid scare messed up the back end of their schedule. When Leafs-Habs played on May 3rd, Habs were playing their 11th game in 18 nights, their 19th in 33 nights. That stretch also included west cost travel. They were tired and injured. The May 3rd team was missing Weber, Gallagher, Price, Drouin, Tatar, Byron. that's 36M of their 80M cap out of the lineup.

Habs have a well built playoff lineup .. but they will not even make da dance next year in Atlantic division .. it is very tricky to build a lineup like Tampa has where it gets enough points during regular season but is build to play playoff hockey .. they are 2 different games with 2 different set of rules .. with COVID and CAP makes it all very very difficult to manage

It’s funny because it’s so true.

Worst team in the playoffs beats the third worst team in the playoffs.

Analytics Fanboi is desperate for anything to deselect the catastrophic failure of Dubas and Keefe.

Leafs gave the series to Montreal and the Habs took advantage of that which is the only credit they might deserve. When Scheifele got himself removed, this series was basically over although I believe Winnipeg was in tough anyway. I'll give Montreal credit if they defeat their third round opponent.

We'll see what they do against Colorado or Vegas, everybody knew that the North division was a joke all season long. They are much better than I thought they were but the real teams are waiting for them, the Leafs and Jets are both trash. Now if they beat COL/VEG then they are a buzzsaw.

Played Leafs without the 25th scorer in the league/captain and then without Muzz.
Montreal did not outshoot us once the entire series.
Playing Winnipeg originally missing their 2nd centre and eventually 1 and 2.
Montreal is not that good.
The IIHF showed what happens in a small sample size. A good goalie and a team approach can cause upsets.
