Looks like their new system kicked in at the right time for them.......maybe the leafs hit a buzz saw?
That and what happens next season. Without COVID they weren’t a playoff team in 2019-20 and very possibly not this season either with a normal divisional alignment, and then they never have these opportunities to begin with. If they struggle next regular season as well then I will think it was kind of a fluke. But it still reflects no better on us; Once given the opportunity, they got it done, we didn’t.Any team experiencing playoff success requires / demands credit or respect. The true test will come once they get out of the North.
I'm a Leafs fan. I do not give MTL credit.
Only 4 players carrying this team + Perry's garbage goals.
I think what many forget is the team that the Leafs played in the playoffs was not the same team that finished 18th overall nor was it the same team that they played on May 3rd, 5th and 6th to end the season. The 11 day break Habs had for their covid scare messed up the back end of their schedule. When Leafs-Habs played on May 3rd, Habs were playing their 11th game in 18 nights, their 19th in 33 nights. That stretch also included west cost travel. They were tired and injured. The May 3rd team was missing Weber, Gallagher, Price, Drouin, Tatar, Byron. that's 36M of their 80M cap out of the lineup.Their system is working and the guys have really come together as a team, but let's be real. This is an 18th place team that is largely devoid of any high end talent
Leafs should have beat them, no excuses
I hate to say it but whoever those 4 are + Perry did enough of a job to embarrass the Leafs and mock its entire fanbase for the next decade.Only 4 players carrying this team + Perry's garbage goals.
This is some 12 step recovery **** to eventually get over it so you can be happy again next season. I don't totally hate it because it's harmless. Just know, what you're doing is tricking yourself.
