I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean. If Matty is the player most likely to score a goal, why is he the one making the most passes?

I see that's 'passes completed'. So passes made but not successfully received aren't counted? Like a perfect pass that the receiver just missed, like JT did several times against Boston?

Leafs Home Board
No one player is not the problem. The failures are a sum of the parts.
"You're only as strong as your weakest link".

Leafs are in Salary Cap Hell like no other team, and Tavares is one of the core 4 that consume > 1/2 the Salary Cap with 4 players in the top 12 highest contracts,

Leafs weakest link is lack of available cap space to build a deep team that can compete for the Cup, and Tavares in that respect is a big part of that problem.

Next year when his contract ends Leafs will start to get some breathing room.

The core as a whole have been bad in the playoffs, but Tavares has been atrocious (worst of the bunch and by far):
38 games
12 goals
24 points

An 11 million dollar captain putting up those numbers in his prime is unacceptable.

He ranks 43rd in g/60 in the playoffs, 63rd in p/60. Even with the most generous interpretation (taking away players who have less than 30 games), he ranks 58th in p/60, 39th in g/60. Basically a decent 2nd liner, not even close to captain 1st line 11 million material.
