Well, tomorrow's game will most likely decide everything.. Would be a disaster losing Latvia in the top division

I'm ashamed of my team. Shameful performance... Even at the lone win we should have lost if not for Masalskis. Mental weakness I guess... We just can't play consistent.
Looked like headless chickens at times...

Well done Germany.

relegation is still mainly between austria and france

but it's obviously a huge win for germany, basically ensures us staying up

No reason to be ashamed whatsoever. The effort was there, but you need to score more than one goal to win games. Also first goal is totally on Masalskis - ********* rebound in the tournament.

Germany looked really tired for the first two periods, Latvia was clearly better until then. I guess that's what happens when you surprisingly manage to keep up with a top-team the day before, you spend a whole lot of energy to gain nothing and then end up being tired the next day. Luckily it turned out well this time.

Still, we have another setup like this with the Czechs and Austria back to back, wouldn't surprise me if they look slow against Austria as well.

I'm kinda surprised we have two wins already. I expected the worst with this roster.

great sportsmanship from Latvian fans here :handclap: :handclap:

I rate fanhoods in international hockey by the chicks. Between Latvia and Hungary, it would be tough as ****.

Same here.

Maybe.. Just Maybe.. That loss of Switzerland against Austria might cost them. They still have to Play Sweden, Canada and the Czech Republic. Germany still has to Play against Austria, so they might be able to slip into the QF.

So sad that I didn't watch the game and watched Bundesliga instead (Hamburg played like crap, but hey, 1 point!) :D

Well, with Canada, Czech, Sweden and Germany I could absolutely live!

That would be great.

Man. What a ****** loss.

This game has drained all the excitement about this tournament from me.

Definitely agree about Sprukts with some of the earlier posters. He probably should be demoted to the 3rd line. Not that it matters much anymore.

Latvija, I see you guys are also trying really hard for that direct place at the 2018 Olympics. :yo::laugh:
That's nearly impossible after today's loss. Germany has to lose all of their games and Switzerland has to lose all of their games in regulation tame AND Latvia has to win all of their games in regulation + we need to win the quarter-finals. That's like a 1 in 1000 chance, so don't worry about Korea.

Actually after Sochi, that's exactly why I'm worrying about Korea.
