Not that it means anything, but Larkin has always brought his A-game internationally while Eichel kinda just floats through it. Larkin is certainly doing a great job defensively and on the PK while creating scoring chances 5-on-5 with his speed and vision. Great all-around player. Eichel's line doesn't have much going for it right now.
I didn't mean the lines ... just looking at them individualy. just how they cary the puck, the decision made with it, which area on the ice they skate to and why, decisions with puck under pressure .. sorry to say, Larkin takes it all, different level imo. and I would consider myself an Eichel "fan".
anyway guess I wanted to put more emphasis on Larkin's strength than Eichel's "flaws".
I think Larkin is going to turn a lot of heads in the nhl very soon

This kind of thinking is a product of Eichel being under the microscope for so long. I was reading through a thread on the Buffalo board that had similar sentiments. It was a lot of praising Larkin and ripping Eichel. When I got home and watched the game, it was obvious that Eichel was being watched more closely and critiqued harsher. Larkin's gaffes went unmentioned, but any nice play he made was commended. Meanwhile, Eichel was the exact opposite. Any mistake he made caught people's attention, and his good plays seemed almost to be expected. Put Larkin under the same microscope, and they are not comparable players. Larkin is a great player and I wanted Buffalo to trade up for him badly, but they are not in the same class.
Just got here. The States really look like they have their hands full.
