Americans did everything to make Belarus weaker. NJD and NYI didn't allow Grabovsky and Hrabarenka to come over.

Trust me - that country doesn't even know this tournament is on - let alone concoct a hair brained scheme like you're proposing.

Damn - I've never seen conspiracy theories after a win, before...

No problem. I watched the game on Russian TV. They name our country Byelorussia, like the USSR still exists. Transcription with "O" is how Russians call us. And every Belarusian I know hates it. That's why I was kind of disappointed with your transcription.

Dude, russians also call Germans Nemtsy. It's the language, belorussian(or belarussian) is different from russian anyway.

Wow, can't believe that the U.S lost this one... Congrats to Belarus for the huge upset! :yo:

That Eichel kid is pretty good though.

At-first, the quoted post I've made during the 1st half of the game. You can't look at the time when a post was written?
At-second, if you read the thread you might get some answers and won't look silly.

And just to end it: last seconds of the goal camera life:

Can someone please explain how the USA goes out and beats Russia and then loses by 3 goals to Belarus?? I thought Russia was the better team?

first of all... YAY! :handclap::handclap:

Only time i root against USA is when they play Belarus. Sorry, Land of the Free, luv ya, but...

Somewhere in Sweden, in a run down hotel smelling of cheap booze and smoke in a room with a black and white tv a lone figure has just turned off the tv and said 'Thank you, I am free.' That lone figure? Tommy Salo.
Nah, he still gets the "honors".
This wasn't an elimination game in a tournament where best of the best are playing.

Good effort by White Russia. I think White Russia can challenge Russia in the next game.

*i don't are what they call us... i don't care what they call us... i don't care what they call us*

nope not working.

i mean technically it's an artificial name forced upon our land by soviets. Historical name is quite different. But that ship has sailed... It's already taken anyway.

I know that Germany is Deutchland, Finland is Suomi, etc. Thing is, White Russia somehow implies that we are Russians. Which we are not. Different language, different history, different culture. Belarus was with or under Poland a lot longer than under Russia. Funny thing, Polish, Ukranian, Belarusian, Slovakian people will rather easily understand each other in conversation. It will be really hard for a person who has only been exposed to Russian language to pick up those languages by ear on the spot.

They care about their investments not getting injured in a meaningless tournament. Sorry if that bothers you, but Belarus isn't paying those players millions of dollars to play hockey, their pro teams are.

If that was the case, then why is Lee and Nelson playing for USA?

#17 white chasing with 1 hand on his stick played a bigger role in this, That should have been an easy pick off

Heard about this from my roommate. This can't be for real... Just wow... The US is simply a better team than this. I plain don't understand how this happened. Can anyone provide a little insight? I didn't see the game at all.

Dan Bylsma coached the game. He changed the approach he used to win all the previous games and it backfired. Oh wait, that was a different tourney. Belarus took this game seriously, the USA looked like they thought it was a walk over.

-Inexperience, especially on defense on unfamiliar ice surface
-Cambell laid an egg
-Belarus played great
-US had two days off and were prob a little overconfident after beating Russia
-US didn't create enough offense(or Belarus team D was better than other teams)
-lots of good players declined for US

Lots of little things.

Yikes. The US strikes me as a team that should be able to win against Belarus despite little mistakes. Oh well. As a Canadian, I can't complain. I'm just surprised, as I give the US a ton of props for not only producing great players recently, but producing teams that can compete with the best of the best.

Pretty cool ( and a bit bizarre) to see Kevin Lalande in net for Belarus. He's from Kingston, Ontario and had a darn good OHL career with the Belleville Bulls.

He had a pretty fantastic game from what I saw, I've spent the day considering him as a possible option in net for Buffalo next year. His KHL stats are pretty eye-popping, could be a classic late bloomer.

I guess it wasn't just little things. Some big things too.

Very strange to see Dave Lewis tactically get the better of someone... He did today/yesterday, beauty of a game plan. USA will have to go back to the drawing board, controlled pushes forward were key to this point, today they left themselves open too often with bad results.
