Yeah, suits allover the place is terrible outcome.

Kemppainen never had any ambitions or let's say opportunity to try playing in NHL? He has the size and could be solid 3rd or 4th liner?

he's young (88) and he'll get in NHL. Probably next season. At least that's a report. Donskoi could go aswell

Those numerous odd-man rushes have been dreadful

Always looking for the pass that's easily defended by a Slovenian defender. If there's one thing about Finnish hockey i never get used to is the inability to land a saucer or just outpower the goalie with your shot.

Donskoi is fast and skilled. Much better than in his draft year. Still I dont believe he will become a solid NHL-player.

Based on this tournament he's far from it and im not saying he hasn't been good. If he had a great finishing touch then there would be a possibility but to me he looks more suited for KHL.

The fact is he should have like 5 goals already.

Yeah, it's definitely of Russian origin.

Well, that's how it sounds, but it ending in "koi" feels bit finnish, Russia would definitely have it koy, so I think it's name modified from Russian original name.

What? Russia would definitely have it in cyrillic. English transliteration would write it Donskoy, Finnish transliteration writes it Donskoi.

Yea, but don't they have y and i there, just in cyrilic form. Koi and Koy r not the same, Russian names are always written "oy" rather than "oi" anywhere every time.

Well, what ****ing ever. If any one doesn't see that point I don't care, let's just let that be. I don't mind if its Russian name, its just good thing if anything. But it's not like 100% Russian, what Russian family would dedcide to write it's name "koi" instead of "koy" in latins.

It doesn't matter really, since transliteration is about the correct pronounciation. Another example I can think of is Leo Tolstoi (Tolstoy in English)

I'm not liking the fact they are playing the anthem with too high tempo to sing it properly (at least for drunk fans).

Donskoi has spent all his time working on his skating and conditioning. Needs to learn how to shoot the puck now if he ever wants to be more than a euro star.

Routine win for Suomi, well done. Realistically nobody here expected anything other than a loss. 4:0 is not brutal after all, it could've been worse. Our championship starts tomorrow really, must win against Norway.

Good luck guys.

Pretty decent performance by Slovenia, despite the final score.

I tought it was maybe their worst performance so far but maybe they wanted to take this game "easy" and concentrate for tomorrows game against Norway. It's much more important for them

Thanks. Good luck for you too.

We pretty much did what we had to do. Good win.

I think he could've had two or three prime scoring chances on the PP if he trusted Barkov to win the puck battle in front of the net. There was a couple of times where Donskoi tried to go in to help Barkov when Sasha didn't really need help and that left Donskoi in an awkward position where he couldn't really shoot it nor pass to an open man. If Donskoi stayed more to the middle or even at the half-boards, he could've just walked straight into the slot.

If Kemppainen can keep playing like this, he'll have a long NHL career, while I got my doubts about Donskoi's NHL dreams. He'll be a solid KHL player IMO. Long time Jokerit player in the future I guess.

If Jussi Jokinen and Tuomo Ruutu can play in NHL Donskoi is going to be a freaking superstar. He has just been unlucky. He is usually good finisher. Plus, the best shootout player in the world
