d-man Mironov was added today. 1 spot left. They are probably keeping it for Ovechkin.

Russia has far better team on paper, this should be their victory. USA in reality wasn't dominant against Finland, as result would suggest.

Where have I heard that the US aren't that good on paper. Might have been on a game thread before a match on Friday.

Yea unfortunately the best American born players are still playing in the NHL Post-season.

They could've easily nominated a team full of excellent NHLers without those 8 teams. They don't take it very seriously, that's all.

Can't blame them thoug, schedule isn't optimal for NHL players just coming off a 82-game season.

Russia used not to have a lot of names to choose from because of strict Orthodox rules, so it's pretty typical. There was time when my favorite soccer team would regularly start 6 Dmitry's.
The fact there are 0 Alexanders on this team is very rare.

No it didin't really dominate offensively. It just capitalized. Finland had more AAA chances ect.

And US team isn't as good on paper as Russia..

But no ones saying they couldn't win.
