I really hope finns win this like 5-1, but I'm a bit nervous because finns can't score. They need like 45 shots on goal to score 3 goals,it's so frustrating! Team Sweden has already scored 20 beauty goals in 3 games! That's sick! Do they even train shooting in Finland..? :shakehead

No they dididn't actually :D When I played the kids series, it wasn't trained even once. Neither was goal scoring as such even talked about during coaching. One should do that on his own time though, ofc.

Trettenes is in the Norwegian lineup, making his WC debut on the third line. Djupvik was scratched to make room.

Wtf!? :help:

I started when I were 7 and quit when I were 14 (then started again less seriously when I were 16). It just wasn't trained as a skill. We trained alot of skating as skills like that, and drills that had many kind of things like passing and shooting the puck in the net, but the actual technique of the shot and goal scoring as a "science" was never talked about deeply. And we almost never played actual hockey (5 on 5) in the practice. I can count maybe few times, the last 20minutes. This wasn't in Liiga-city. The team is pretty bad but still.

Well what the hell and let go the OT, there's game starting. We have good team regardless of the old system sucking.

We got so good at training goalies that our players got frustrated and learnt to just shoot it in the direction of the net hoping that 5% probability of scoring means 28-29/30 one or two goals a game and hope your goalie is good enough to keep it to 0-1 :sarcasm:

1-0 Finland, Lindell!

Unfortunately I can't watch the game, but Lindell seems to play a very good WHC so far.

Pesonen-Kemppainen- Komarov works far better than the Immonen-Pihlström-Komarov line we had yesterday. Really impressed, if they keep this up that line should imo be a lock going forwards

So how is the game developing at the moment? The Finns have more shots on the norvegian goal. Are they controlling the game more or less or is Norway playing more or less playing on the level of the Finns?

5-3 powerplay for the Norwegians, Finland having some troubles with the Norwegian first and specifically some defensive pairings seem to have more trouble than others. Barkov's and Kemppainens line dont seem to have troubles.
The first penalty for the Norwegians was the right call, didnt see the second properly but it seemed a soft call. 30 seconds of 5-3 in the next period then aout a minute of 5-4 before we're back even

Norway ahsnt given up at 1-0, we need the second and third goal to depress them and be able to take the foot off the pedal, if we keep ot at 1-0 they will have to work hard all night.

Ok thks for the summary.

Norway has been more in control after the goal. Our team has a hard time crossing the neutral zone and generating offense. Also getting into penalty trouble, 5-on-3 for Norway to end the period, but split by the intermission.

Penalties killed, Holos had Norways best chance at 5-on-3 but instead of shooting straighht from the pass he took control of it and then shot. Against a vezina nominee with nothing blocking his vision thats a wasted scoring chance.

Back and forth play now
